Status: Underwent Tommy John surgery last June. Playing catch up to 105 feet three times a week. (Updated March 14)

Injury: Right rotator cuff strain
Expected return: After Opening Day
Status: Shut down from throwing after last appearance March 3, when he allowed three runs on three hits and three walks in two innings with decreased velocity. Will not be ready to begin the season, according to manager A.J. Hinch. (Updated March 7)
RHP Tyler Mattison
Injury: Right UCL reconstruction
Expected return: May
Status: Completing rehab daily, according to Tigers. (Updated March 7)
