Full name AN THONY JOSE PH GRAFFAN INO... Resides in Hockessin, DE... Married, wife's name is Nicole... Has two children: A.J. and Nicholas... Graduated from East Islip (NY) High School... Along with his wife Nicole have established the Tony Graffanino Foundation in which helps out numerous children's charities... Is also a contributor to Garth Brook's Touch 'Em All Foundation, which raises money for children's charities... Contributes to the National Center for Fathering, a group of men who seek to be better father-figures.

Signed to a AAA contract on June 24 with Buffalo after coming off right knee rehabilitation... Batted .315 (28- 89) with 7 doubles, a triple and 6RBI in 25 games for the Bisons... Made 10 starts at third base, 9 at second base, 3 at first base and 3 at shortstop...Was 1-2 on July 9, his first game since August 8, 2007 vs. Colorado while playing with the Brewers... Hit safely in 18 of his 25 games... Batted .318 (21-66) off right-handed pitchers and .304 (7-23) off lefties... Batted .238 with 9 HR and 30 RBI in 86 games...Made 60 starts (27g at 2B, 23g at 3B, 7g at 1B, 3g in LF)...His 3 starts in left field were the first of his Major League career in the outfield...His 9 home runs established a career high...Had a season-high 4 hits, all singles, on 6/10 at Texas as he went 4-for-6...Belted his fourth career pinch-hit home run with a 2-run shot off Rick White on 6/26 vs. Houston...Produced a walkoff RBI-single as a pinch hitter to give the Brewers a 2-1, 10-inning win on 7/14 vs. Colorado...Left the game on 8/8 at Colorado in the first inning with a torn ACL and medial meniscus tear in his right knee and missed the remainder of the season.....suffered the injury while catching a line drive off the bat of Brad Hawpe...On 8/20 underwent surgery in Vail, CO to repair the medial meniscus tear.....the surgery was performed by Dr. Richard Steadman...Is slated to have surgery on his torn ACL in December

2006

On 3/28 was claimed off waivers by Kansas City from Boston...Began the season with the Royals and batted .268 with 5 HR and 32 RBI in 69 games...From 7/2-7/16 had a season-high 10-game hitting streak (15-38, .395, 1hr, 6rbi)...On 7/25 was traded to the Brewers in exchange for LHP Jorge De La Rosa...Batted .280 with 2 HR and 27 RBI in 60 games with the Brewers.....made 59 starts (56g at 2B, 3g at SS)...Reached base safely in 50 of his 60 games as a Brewer...Made his Brewers debut on 7/26 vs. Pittsburgh, starting at second base (0-for-4)...Was named Brewers Player of the Month for August, leading the team in hits (30) and doubles (10) while he batted .286...Batted .337 (35-for-104) with runners in scoring position between the Royals and Brewers (.364 w/Milwaukee)...On 1/19/07 signed a 1-year contract, avoiding arbitration.

Appeared in 70 games for the White Sox before having his season cut short due to injury...tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee August 25 vs. Tampa Bay and underwent surgery September 9...hit .285 (45-for-158) in 48 games before the All-Star break, but only .211 (15-for-71) in 22 games after the break...went 4-for-4 with 2 homers and 6 RBI May 7 at Oakland...the 2 homers and 6 RBI were both career highs and the 4 hits matched his career best.

2001

Batted .303 (44-for-145) in 74 games for the White Sox, collecting 9 doubles, 2 homers and 15 RBI...would have led the club in batting average and on-base percentage (.370), but did not have the necessary plate appearances to qualify...got hot as the season progressed, batting .361 (22-for-61) after the All-Star break after a .262 (22-for-84) first half...hit .368 (25-for-68) in 39 games on the road and .247 (19-for-77) in 35 home games...had his best month in August, batting .452 (14-for-31) in 12 games...that month featured an 8-game hitting streak...drove in the game-winning run in back-to-back games September 21-22 vs. Kansas City...made his first career appearance in the outfield (as a leftfielder) June 3 vs. Detroit.

2000

Split the season between the Devil Rays and White Sox organizations, batting a combined .274 with 2 homers and 17 RBI in 70 big league games...began the season with Tampa Bay before being traded to Chicago May 31 for RHP Tanyon Sturtze...went on to make 19 starts at shortstop, 12 starts at second base and 4 starts at third base for the ChiSox...clubbed his first career grand slam August 9 vs. Seattle.

1999

Hit .315 in 39 games for the Devil Rays after being released by the Braves April 2...signed a minor league contract with Tampa Bay April 9 and began the campaign with Triple-A Durham before his contract was purchased by the Devil Rays July 30...homered in his first game with the D-Rays, August 1 at Oakland...closed the season with a 10-game hitting streak from September 19-October 2, batting .447 (17-for-38) with 7 RBI and 11 runs scored.

1998

Played in 105 games for the Braves in his 2nd full major league season, batting .211 with 14 doubles, 5 homers, 22 RBI and 32 runs scored...the 105 games would be his most until the 2005 campaign, when he took the field in 110 contests...hit .346 (9-for-26) in May and .354 (17-for-48) in July...went 4-for-4 with a homer, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored July 19 vs. Milwaukee...appeared in one Division Series game vs. Chicago and 4 NLCS games vs. San Diego, going a combined 1-for-3 with a double, RBI and 2 runs.

1997

In his first full major league season, became Atlanta's everyday second baseman after Mark Lemke suffered a torn ligament in his ankle August 20...started 46 games for the Braves, batting .250 with 7 homers and 18 RBI in those contests...homered in back-to-back starts June 22 at Philadelphia and June 26 vs. Philadelphia...also turned the trick August 26-27 vs. Houston...saw action in 6 post-season games, going 2-for-11.

1996

Made his big league debut with 3 separate stints in Atlanta, the first of which began April 19 when Mike Mordecai went on the D.L....was hit by San Diego's Joey Hamilton in his first major league plate appearance April 19 and then singled off Hamilton his next time up for his first big league hit...was optioned to Triple-A Richmond May 4, but spent time in Atlanta from May 24-June 12 and September 3 through the end of the season.
