Saved 88% of his opportunities (28-of-32), eighth in the AL ... was 10th in the Rolaids relief standings with 70 points ... first batters hit just .117 (7-for-60) against Todd, the best mark in the AL and third in the majors ... his 4.97 ERA was the highest of his career ... began the season with seven straight scoreless outings (7.0 ip) ... posted a season-high 3 strikeouts twice, both against the Red Sox (July 17 vs. Boston & Sept. 13 at Boston).

In his first season as a Tiger, Todd set a then-career high with 31 saves, which tied him for fourth in the AL ... 10 of his saves came in one-run games ... his .861 save percentage was fifth best in the league ... earned his first American League save on April 5 at Chicago ... was named Rolaids Reliever of the Month for July (1-0, 1.29 ERA, 10 saves) ... named Tigers Pitcher of the Month for September, where he was 3-1 with a 2.84 ERA (12.2 ip, 4 er) and 7 saves in 11 appearances.
1996
Jones became the Astros closer out of spring training and went on to save a team-high 17 games, despite missing the later portion of the season on the disabled list ... was 6-1 with 16 saves at the All-Star break but would only throw 15.1 innings in the second half of the season ... went on the DL with right shoulder tendinitis on July 19 and was activated on Aug. 12 ... then was on the DL again from Aug. 18-Sept. 12 with the same ailment ... pitched for one game with Tucson on a rehab assignment ... was traded to the Tigers following the season on Dec. 10.
1995
Set career highs in wins (6), games (68), innings (99.2) and strikeouts (96) ... his innings and strikeouts ranked second among NL relievers ... inherited the closer role when John Hudek was injured on June 23 ... had a season high 5 strikeouts that day vs. Chicago ... returned to setup duty after Houston acquired Mike Henneman on Aug. 10 ... had a 14.2 scoreless innings streak from Aug. 30 to Sept. 26.
