Originally signed by the Atlanta Braves as a non-drafted free agent, 8-14-95...Jamestown Pitcher of the Year, 1999...missed the 2000 season after undergoing "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow...made his Major League debut, 8-21-04 at Los Angeles...earned his first Major League win, 8-30-04 vs. San Francisco...traded to Detroit along with RHP Zach Miner in exchange for RHP Kyle Farnsworth, 7-31-05...earned his first Major League save 7-5-06 at Oakland...acquired by the Royals in exchange for LHP Danny Christensen, 7-13-07...made a career-high 43 appearances with the Royals in 2009...appeared in five games with Kansas City in 2010 before being granted his release so he could sign with the KIA Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization...helped to coordinate a large donation of medical and fire equipment to his hometown over the past few years.

Made five appearances for Kansas City, posting a 18.00 ERA (4 ER/2.0 IP) and allowing a .455 opponents' batting average (5-for-11)...Designated for assignment on April 16 and outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on April 21...appeared in two games with Omaha, allowing an unearned run over 2.0 innings...signed by the Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization on May 5...Placed on the inactive list on May 1 and released on May 3...Made the Royals' Opening Day roster after going 1-0 with one save and a 1.64 ERA (2 ER/11.0 IP) in 11 Spring Training relief appearances... limited opposing hitters to a .132 batting average (5-for-38) with 13 strikeouts...Following the season, pitched for the Leones del Escogido and the Gigantes del Cibao in the Dominican League...went 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA (4 ER/20.0 IP) and a .178 opponents' batting average (13-for-73) in four starts with the Gigantes

Began the season with Omaha (AAA) and made 13 relief appearances before having his contract selected on May 24...spent the remainder of the season in the Royals bullpen, making a career-high 43 appearances...Endured a roller coaster year, posting a 3.21 ERA (14.0 IP, 5 ER) through his fi rst 13 outings...then allowed 19 earned runs in his next 19.2 innings over 18 appearances for an 8.69 ERA...included in that run was a streak of allowing at least 1 run in 9 straight outings from July 31-September 1...fi nished the season on a high note with a 1.62 ERA in his fi nal 12 appearances, including 8 straight scoreless appearances from September 2-20...Earned his fi rst win in the Majors since August 4, 2006 vs. Cleveland at Comerica Park in Detroit when KC rallied for a 4-3 win on July 6, also in Detroit.

Split the season between Triple A Toledo and Detroit, before having his season cut short by injury...Began the season on Toledo's disabled list with a right shoulder strain...Started two games with the Mud Hens after being reinstated from the disabled list on May 1...Recalled by the Tigers on May 11...Established a career high with 5.1 innings of relief on May 25 at Kansas City...Made his lone start of the season for the Tigers on May 30 against the New York Yankees -- did not figure in the decision after allowing five runs in 2.1 innings...Won both of his decisions, June 30 at Pittsburgh and August 4 versus Cleveland -- established a career high with a two-game winning streak...Registered his first major league save on July 5 at Oakland, working the final 3.1 innings...Landed on the disabled list for the remainder of the season with neck spasms on August 14 -- transferred to the 60-day disabled list on September 15.

Saw action with Double A Mississippi, Triple A Richmond and the Atlanta Braves before joining the Tigers as part of a three-player deal on July 31..Made the Braves Opening Day roster for the first time in his career -- posted a 3.86 ERA (7.0IP/3ER) in eight relief outings during April...Struggled over the course of his 10 outings May 3-June 10, compiling an 11.45 ERA (11.0IP/14ER) before being optioned to Mississippi on June 12...Made two starts with Mississippi before his option was transferred to Richmond on June 20...Started one game for Richmond before he was recalled by the Braves from Triple A on June 25...Joined the Braves starting rotation and posted a 1-2 record and 3.09 ERA (23.1IP/8ER) in his four starts...Fanned a career-high five batters on June 30 at Florida...Optioned back to Richmond on July 18 -- made two starts at Triple A before being recalled by Atlanta on July 30...Assigned to the Tigers bullpen following the trade on July 31...Worked four innings in relief August 15 versus Boston to establish a career high...Equaled a career best with five strikeouts in a win at Boston on August 27...After nine relief outings with Detroit, he was inserted into the Tigers starting rotation -- made three starts for the Tigers, being forced from his final start on September 17 at the Los Angeles Angels in the first inning with right shoulder stiffness...Made seven starts between Atlanta and Detroit, combining for a 1-3 record and 3.27 ERA (33.0IP/12ER)...finished 1-3 with a 7.68 ERA (36.1IP/31ER) in 28 relief outings for the Braves and Tigers.

Pitched at three different levels in 2004 and ended the year with Atlanta...At Richmond (AAA), went 4-1 with a 3.65 ERA in 51 appearances...Was Richmond Pitcher of the Month for July, going 2-0 with a 1.33 ERA (12G, 20.1 IP, 3 ER, BB, 17 K). Walked just two batters after July 1 with the R-Braves (19 G, 31.1 IP)...Did not allow a run over his last six appreances at Richmond, 8/4-17 (10.2 IP, 2 H, BB, 11 K)...Was recalled by Atlanta on 8/18...Made his Major League debut 8/21 at LA, pitching the eighth inning. Did not allow a hit and fanned two...Earned first ML win 8/30 vs. SF with a scoreless ninth inning...Suffered first ML loss on 9/9 vs. PHI. 2004 POSTSEASON HIGHLIGHTS: Division Series (Hou.): Was not on playoff roster.

Was named G-Braves Pitcher of the Month in April (2-0, 2.86 ERA in 4 G)...Finished 1st on club and 3rd in AA Southern League in wins, going 11-3...Earned a win in his first AA start in 3-1 victory vs. Chattanooga April 9 (5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 3 BB, 4 K)...Won his first 3 decisions before losing back-to-back starts May 12 and 17, yielding 8 runs on 16 hits over 12 innings...Went 6-3 (3.66) in 12 starts (71.1 IP, 68 H, 22 BB, 38 K) and was 5-0 (2.78) with 2 saves in 27 relief appearances (35.2 IP, 36 H, 11 BB, 20 K)...Closed the season by winning his final 7 decisions (did not lose after May 29)...Did not allow a run over his final 13 appearances of the season August 1-September 1...Earned his first professional save by firing a perfect inning in a 5-3 win at Jacksonville on July 23.
