Was signed by Eddy Toledo and Tim Kissner…Was acquired by the Reds, along with IF Edwin Arroyo, RHP Levi Stoudt and RHP Andrew Moore, for RHP Luis Castillo on July 29, 2022. On Chattanooga's seven-day injured list with a strained hamstring, June 5-21, 2023; included a rehabilitation assignment at ACL Reds, June 16-21.

2023

Began the season at Class AA Chattanooga but started 31 of the Reds' 39 games after he was promoted from Class AAA Louisville on 8/19...As the Reds battled for a playoff spot, beginning 9/1 hit .380 (30-79, 4 2b, 3hr, 13rbi, 1sb, .417obp, .544slg, .961ops)…Beginning 8/30 finished the season with a 22-game on-base streak (30-82, .366, 4 2b, 3hr, 13rbi, 2sb, 13r, .409obp, .524slg, .933ops)…Beginning 9/5 finished the season with a 16-game hitting streak (25-62, .403, 3 2b, 3hr, 9rbi, 1sb, .431obp, .597slg, 1.028ops)…tied for the fourth-longest season-ending hitting streak in club history (Hal Morris, 29g in 1996; Vada Pinson, 27g in 1965; Barry Larkin, 21g in 1988; Joe Stripp, 16g in 1931)…His 16-game hitting streak was the longest by a Reds batter this season and the longest by a Reds rookie since IF Benny Zientara's 16-game hitting streak from 9/10-9/22, 1946...When the season concluded, his was the second-longest active hitting streak in the Major Leagues (Mil's William Contreras, 18g)…his 16-game hitting streak covered 19 appearances and included a pinch-hit single in the fifth game and three games in which he extended the streak in his final plate appearance...When the season concluded, his 22-game on-base streak was the fourth-longest active streak in the Major Leagues...was the second-longest on-base streak by a Reds batter in 2023 (Matt McLain, 23g)…In his final plate appearance of the season, in the ninth inning of the 4-3 loss at StL in the season finale, doubled off Ryan Helsley to extend his hitting and on-base streaks...Made 26 starts at 3B, 3 starts at SS (last, 9/20 vs Min) and 1 start at DH (9/1/g1 vs Chc)…this season in the Minor Leagues made 28 starts at SS, all for Chattanooga...In the ninth inning of the 7-0 loss on 9/19 vs Min made his only professional appearance at 2B...During warmups on 9/9 suffered a nasal fracture when he was hit by an errant throw...missed 2 games (9/9 & 9/10 vs StL) and 3 starts (9/9 & 9/10 vs StL, 9/12 at Det)...in his last 15 appearances of the season following the injury hit .392 (20-51, 2 2b, 2hr, 8rbi, .415obp, .549slg, .964ops). In 115 appearances for the Class A+ affiliates of the Mariners (Everett) and Reds (Dayton) combined to hit .279 with 23 doubles, 19 HR, 68 RBI, 23 stolen bases and an .829 OPS... Among all Class A+ players ranked fourth with 205 total bases... Entered the season as the fifth-youngest player in the Northwest League... The Mariners' No. 1 prospect was a non-roster invitee to Major League spring training camp... Entered the season rated baseball's No. 18 prospect by Baseball America, No. 15 by Baseball Perspectus and No. 11 by MLB Pipeline... Following the season played for Glendale in the prestigious Arizona Fall League (21g, .211, 1 2b, 2hr, 10rbi, 1sb)...along with OF Rece Hinds, was selected to play in the Fall Stars Game... Was added to the 40-man roster at the 11/15 restricted list deadline, along with IF Elly De La Cruz, RHP Ricky Karcher, RHP Lyon Richardson, RHP Levi Stoudt and RHP Brandon Williamson.
