Saw his first big league action, appearing in nine games for Toronto and batting .222 (6-for-27)...spent most of the season with the Triple-A Syracuse...received his first trip to the majors 4/12-24, making his M.L. debut 4/17 at California...doubled off Chuck Finley on the first M.L. pitch he saw...returned to Toronto in September and played in seven games, including six starts at second base...at Syracuse, he batted .277 in 120 games with three homers, 48 RBI and 27 stolen bases...appeared in 84 games at second base, 32 games at third base and five games at shortstop, committing 23 errors in 511 total chances for a .955 fielding percentage... led International League second basemen in double plays (64)...was on the disabled list 5/27-6/5 with a slight fracture of his right thumb.

Spent his final season in Los Angeles' farm system at San Antonio (AA)...appeared in 107 games and batted .278 with 33 steals - the third-highest total in the Texas League...fanned just 32 times in 474 trips to the plate...his ratio of 1 strikeout every 14.8 plate appearances was second in the league...was selected by Baseball America as the league's best defensive second baseman.
