Matt resides in Litchfield Park, Ariz., with his wife Jesica and their dog, Grainger. Jesica and Matt graduated from Dresden High School (Tenn.) in 2011 together...Matt earned All-State honors three times and also played basketball, golf and football...Matt and Jesica started the “Matt Beaty Fund” in 2019 to serve as inspiration, motivation and helpful resources for students and athletes to help achieve their dreams...they help Weakley County student-athletes advance to the next level and the county’s local sports programs...He attended Belmont University (Tenn.), where he was named to the Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2013 and the Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team in 2012.

2022

Beaty appeared in 20 games in the Majors in 2022 and made his third consecutive Opening Day roster, his first with San Diego...the majority of his season was spent dealing with a left shoulder impingement...Played in 35 games for Triple-A El Paso, including 21 games rehabbing a left shoulder injury...he batted .270 (34-for-126) with 19 runs, five extra-base hits and 13 RBI for the Chihuahuas...Recorded a four-hit game in three of his rehab games on May 25 vs. Sugarland, Aug. 2 vs. Albuquerque and Aug. 13 vs. Sugarland.

2021

Made his second consecutive Opening Day roster for the Dodgers, owning a .270/.363./.402 slash line with four 2B, one 3B and seven HR in 120 games...Optioned twice during the season - once to the Alternate Training Site on April 17 before being recalled on April 24, and to Oklahoma City (AAA) on Aug. 26 before being recalled Sept. 10 and remaining with the ML squad for the rest of the season...In nine games for Okla. City, he hit .357 (10-for-28) with three 2B, four RBI, two walks, and right strikeouts in nine games played...posted a .950 OPS...Played four different positions in the field for LAD, playing 28 games in left field (20 starts), 21 games at first base (16 starts), 20 games in right field (8 starts), and five games at third base (no starts)...also played in two games as the DH.

POSTSEASON: Played in nine games in the 2021 Postseason, going 1-for-11 (.091) with a RBI...made six appearances in the playoffs in a pinch-hit role and three as a first baseman.

2020

Spent 21 games with the Dodgers last season, batting .220 (11-for-50) with two homers and five RBI Hit .385 (5-for-13) with runners in scoring position...matched a career-high three hits on August 16 at L A A...made three plate appearances in the postseason, reaching base in every one (one walk, two HBPs).

2019

Slashed .265/.317/.458 with 19 doubles, a triple, nine homers and 46 RBI across 99 games in his rookie campaign…over the last 11 seasons (2009-2019), his 99 games rank seventh in club history for most games played in a rookie season ... Collected his first Major League hit in his debut on April 30, going 1-for-1 in a pinch-hit appearance ... Went 8-for-30 (.267) with a double, home run and six RBI over 32 games from the pinch and ranked third in the category among all qualifying rookies ... Made his Postseason debut in Game 2 of the NLDS…collected his first Postseason hit with a pinch-hit single to right in the bottom of the sixth and later scored one of two runs in a 4-2 loss…concluded his Postseason campaign slashing .375/.375/.375 and collected a hit in three of his four games with one run scored…recorded his first walk-off home run on June 21 vs. Colorado...accompanied Alex Verdugo (June 22) and Will Smith (June 23) as the only trio of rookies in Major League history to launch walk-off home runs in three consecutive games…swiped five bags to rank 13th among NL rookies and tied for third in the category among Dodger rookies since 2012…hit his first Major League homer on June 14 with a two-run shot in the second inning against Chicago (NL)…registered three consecutive games with a home run from July 16 to 20…hit .379 (25-for-66) with five doubles, a triple and three homers with runners in scoring position…finished 12th among qualifying rookies with 37 RBI in the category …optioned to Oklahoma City on May 5 and later recalled on May 17…placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hip flexor strain on June 5 (retroactive June 3)…made a rehab assignment with Rancho Cucamonga for a pair of appearances beginning on June 9 and was later optioned to Oklahoma City on June 20…recalled to Los Angeles on June 21 before making his last stop at Triple-A on July 10…spent the balance of the second half with the Dodgers after being recalled on July 15…played 32 games with Triple-A Oklahoma City where he batted .306/.378/.455 with seven doubles, a triple, three homers and 18 RBI.

2018

Played in 31 total games for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers in the Pacific Coast League where he slashed .277/.378/.406 with 13 runs, 10 doubles and 12 RBIs…also spent time on a rehab assignment with the AZL Dodgers where he appeared in three games after undergoing surgery to repair the UCL ligament in his thumb ... For Oklahoma City, appeared in 16 games at first base, four games at second base, four games at third base and five games in left field.

2017

Spent the entire season with Double-A Tulsa and was named Texas League Player of the Year following a breakout season where he slashed .326/.378/.505 with 61 runs, 31 doubles, one triple, 15 homers and 69 RBI in 116 games ... Led the Texas league in batting average (T-1st), OPS (.883) and doubles (T-1st), while also ranking among the best in hits (143, 3rd), extra-base hits (47, T-2nd), total bases (221, 3rd), home runs (T-12th), RBI (T-5th), OBP (4th) and SLG (2nd) ... Appeared in 55 games at first base, 49 games at third base, three games in right field, two games in left field and one game at second base for the Drillers ... S elected as Texas League mid-season All-Star and MiLB.com's Organizational All-Star…also named Texas League Player of the Week in the period ending Aug. 6 ... Following the season, played in the Arizona Fall League with the Glendale Desert Dogs hitting .242 with two homers and 10 RBI…selected to participate in the AFL Rising Stars Game.
