He and his wife, Melissa, make their offseason home in Metaire, La...attended Southeastern Louisian University...named the 1992 TAAC Conference tournament MVP...a 1987 graduate of Archbishop Rummel High School (LA)...brother Jim also played in the Major Leagues from 1992-98, pitching for three different teams...played in Babe Ruth and Dixie Youth leagues.
1992
Made his professional debut at Class A Hamilton where he posted a 1.11 ERA (6ER/48.1IP) in 35 games.
1993
Named a Midwest League All-Star with Class A Springfield...led the league in saves (33) and Rolaids Relief Man points (95)...finished third in the league in games finished (46), fourth in batting average against for a reliever (.144) and fifth in strikeouts in relief (12.62).
1994
Pitched at St. Petersburgh in the Florida State League.
1995
Ranked fourth in games pitched (56) in the Eastern League and fifth in games finished (39) while at Harrisburg.
1996
Pitched for Double A Harrisburg and finished fifth in the Eastern League in saves (22), third in Rolaids Relief Man points (64), and third in games finished (40).
1997
Split most of the season between Double a Harrisburgh and Triple A Ottawa...posted a 1.71 ERA (6ER/31.2IP) at Ottawa.
1998
Made his Major League debut with the Montreal Expos and recorded the win and his only big league decision on Aug. 30 at San Diego (1IP, 1K)...surrendered home run No. 68 to Mark McGwire on Sept. 26.
1999
Pitched in the Boston Red Sox organization...appeared in four games at the Major League level...did not record a decision for the Red Sox and finished with a 4.50 ERA (1ER/2IP)...pitched for current Astros manager Jimy Willliams...made 10 appearances for Pawtucket and notched six saves when his contract was purchased by the Red Sox on June 12...optioned back to Triple a on June 23 and concluded the season there with a team-leading 15 saves in 35 appearances...made just one appearance for Pawtucket on May 8 (2.1IP, 4H, 1ER, 4K) before returning to Trenton on May 11...made five more appearances before returning to Pawtucket on May 20...finished 1-0 with a 0.53 ERA with 10 saves for Trenton...began the season at Double A Trenton and posted seven saves and a 0.73 ERA (1ER/12.1IP) when promoted to Triple A Pawtucket on May 8.
2000
Appeared in three Major League games with the Philadelphia Phillies, posting a 5.41 ERA (2ER/3.1IP) with four strikeouts...began the season at Double A Reading...spent the majority of the season at Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre where he finished 0-1 with a 0.72 ERA (2ER/25IP) in 26 games.
2001
Began the season at Double A Akron (CLE)...signed with independent Somerset in June...concluded the season at Triple A Charlotte (CWS)...pitched for the 2001 USA Baseball World Cup Team in Taipei, Taiwan.
2002
Pitched for Triple A New Orleans, posting a 4-1 record with a 2.75 ERA (23ER/75.1IP) in 55 appearances...ranked second on the Zephrys in appearances (55)...walked only 11 batters in 75.1 innings...signed by the Astros as a minor league free agent in Dec. 2001...made one start...also pitched in middle relief and as a closer.
2003
Appeared in seven games for the Astros...did not record a decision and posted a 6.75 ERA (6ER/8IP)...pitched two scoreless innings on Sept. 23 vs. San Francisco...contract was purchased from Triple A New Orleans on Sept. 2...made his first Astros appearance on Sept. 7 at San Diego, tossing one scoreless inning...went 3-3 with a 1.94 ERA (14ER/65IP) over 55 appearances for the Zephyrs...led New Orelans and ranked fifth in the Pacific Coast League with 20 saves...tied for the team lead in appearances (55)...finished fifth in Rolaids Relief Man points at New Orleans with 60.
