Split the season between the Milwaukee Brewers and Tigers organizations...opened the season with Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization and appeared mainly in relief, compiling a 3-2 record and 3.18 ERA (17 ip, 6 er) in 14 outings...in his three starts, he posted a 4.91 ERA (11.0 ip, 6 er)...did not allow a run in his first six outings with Nashville April 6-20, tossing 7.1 scoreless innings...recalled by the Brewers from Nashville on June 1...after allowing three runs in 2.0 innings in his first outing with the Brewers on June two vs. Florida, he compiled a 2.70 ERA (10.0 ip, 3 er) over his final six outings with the club from June 6- 26...was traded to Detroit from Milwaukee in exchange for LHP Chris Cody on July 1...posted a 3.00 ERA (9.0IP/3ER) in his first 6 outings with Detroit before being optioned to Triple-A Toledo on July 24...recalled by the Tigers from Toledo on July 27 before he appeared in a game with the Mud Hens...optioned back to Toledo by the Tigers on Aug. 3 after one appearance with the club...after allowing three runs in 2.0 innings of work in his first two appearances with Toledo Aug. 7-9, he posted a 3.68 ERA (7.1 ip, 3 er) and three saves in his final six games Aug. 11-30...earned a September promotion with the Tigers and logged an 11.57 ERA (4.2 ip, 6 er) in three games over the final month of the season.

...Went 4-2 with a 4.40 ERA in 61 relief appearances...Led the staff with 71.2 relief innings pitched...Had 13 outings in which he pitched at least 2.0 innings...Retired 38 of 61 first batters faced (62.3%)...Stranded 21 of 31 inherited runners (67.7%)...Was 0-for-2 in save opportunities...Was on the 15-day disabled list from 7/28-8/8 with a right shoulder strain (retroactive to 7/25).....made a rehab start for Double-A Huntsville on 8/7 at Mobile (1ip, 2k)...Tossed a career-high 3.0 relief innings without allowing a run on 6/11 vs. St. Louis...Struck out a career-high 5 batters over 2.0 perfect innings on 8/22 vs. Colorado...Following the season pitched for Cibao of the Dominican Winter League.

Began the season with Triple-A Nashville where he went 5-3 with a 3.87 ERA in 36 appearances/12 starts...began the season as a starter and moved to the bullpen in June ... went 4-2 with a 5.16 ERA as a starter and posted a 1-1 mark alongside a 1.44 ERA and six saves in the pen...recalled from Nashville on August 14...made his Brewers debut that evening against Cincinnati (0.1 IP, 1 R/ER, 2 BB)...made 17 appearances for Milwaukee and notched his first Major League victory on September 26 vs. Cincinnati...logged 15.2 innings with the Brewers going 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA...averaged eight strikeouts per nine innings pitched (14 K/15.2 ip) ... did not allow an earned run on the road in eight outings spanning 7.1 frames ... posted a 2.00 ERA over his last 10 appearances (2 er/9.0 ip) ... held left-handed hitters to a .235 average ... allowed only one earned run in 12 games against NL Central foes ... named by
Baseball America
as the Brewers ninth-best prospect after the season.

Made a rapid ascent through the Braves system playing for Class A Myrtle Beach, Double A Greenville, Triple A Richmond and Atlanta...posted a combined 14-5 mark with a 2.80 ERA in 27 games, 25 starts...began the season at Myrtle Beach where he went 5-1 with a 1.94 ERA in eight starts...struck out 62 batters in 46.1 innings pitched...posted a sterling 0.45 ERA in three starts spanning 20.0 innings...went 4-0 with a 0.55 ERA in five May starts...allowed just two earned runs in 33 innings...won his last five decisions, April 28-May 24, before his promotion to Greenville in May...went 5-1 with a 2.50 ERA in nine games, eight starts for the Braves . . . struck out 53 batters in 50.1 innings pitched...went 5-0 with a 2.33 ERA in eight starts for Greenville...left Greenville with a five-game winning streak, June 9-July 20...participated in the All-Star Futures Game in Houston where he struck out Prince Fielder and Dallas McPhersonpromoted to Richmond in July and posted a 4-2 mark with a 2.51 ERA in seven starts...won three consecutive games from August 8-24...went 3-0 with a 1.04 ERA in four starts in August. . . made his Major League debut on September 12 vs. Montreal...pitched 5.0 innings in his debut allowing two runs on four hits...issued three walks and struck out four.... went 0-1 with an 11.25 ERA at the big league level in three games, two starts...had better than a 3:1 strikeout to walk ratio on the season as he struck out 156 batters and issued just 50 walks in 147.2 innings pitched.

Spent most of the season with Class A Rome... Placed on the disabled list with a right triceps strain from May 2-July 12 and from July 29 to August 12 with a elbow strain...Before the injury he went 1-2 with a 3.80 ERA and posted 1 CG...Threw the CG July 16 at Capital City (7.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K)...Appeared in four SAL playoff games, allowing one earned run in 4.0 IP (4 H, 0 BB, 3 K)...Was 1-0 with a 2.86 ERA in 28.1 IP over 7 road games with Rome.
2002
Recovered from Tommy John surgery (did not play).
2001
Made 3 starts at Class-A Danville, posting a 1.72 ERA...Struck out 25 batters in just 15.2 innings...Struck out a career-high 12 batters over 6.2 innings on 6/30 at Princeton in his final appearance of the season...Underwent "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow on 8/9 and missed the rest of the season.
2000
Went 3-8 with a 3.69 ERA in 14 starts in the Dominican Summer League...Struck out 68 batters in 68.1 innings.
