2007

Opened the year with Tampa Bay and made nine appearances (five starts) before being optioned to Durham (AAA) of the International League on May 11...Was recalled on June 7...Made 20 appearances (14 starts) the rest of the year...Set a club mark for most strikeouts (eight) by a relief pitcher while working 5.1 innings against Cleveland on Aug. 17...On Sept. 4 vs. Seattle, he tossed his first career complete-game shutout...Allowed four hits with six strikeouts.

2002

24-year-old Rule 5 rookie made 31 appearances, 14 starts in his first major league campaign... was claimed by the Rays from Milwaukee on March 18...was selected by the Brewers from the Seattle Mariners in Rule 5 Draft December 13, 2001.

Converted to pitcher in 2001 after spending his first six professional seasons as an outfielder in the Rockies and Mariners systems.

This was his first season above Class A...was one of three Rule 5 players on the roster (also Steve Kent and Felix Escalona).

In his 14 starts he went 2-7 with 5.81 ERA (74.1-IP, 62-H, 48-ER, 42-BB, 38-K, 13-HR)...worked 5.0+ in all but 3 starts, 6.0+ five times and a career-high 7.0 three times.

In 17 overall relief appearances he pitched to a 4.68 ERA (25.0-IP, 26-H, 13-ER).

Notched his 2nd ML win (first at Tropicana Field) in his final season start Sep 8 vs.TEX, snapping a 5-game losing streak as he defeated the Rangers 6-3 (5.0-IP, 2-H, 1-R/ER, 4-BB, 4-K).

Had back-to-back 7-inning performances - Aug. 17 vs. KC and Aug. 22 @ BAL - allowing just 6 hits and 3 earned runs (1.93 ERA), but got two no decisions.

Finished the season with three relief appearances after Dewon Brazelton was placed into the rotation and worked a season relief-high 3.0 innings in his final appearance of the year, Sep 27, a 6-1 TB loss to Boston at Fenway (H, K).

Made 2 rehab appearances for AA Orlando (IP-7, H-4, R-2, ER-0, BB-1, SO-3, HR-1)
