Made one scoreless rehabilitation appearance with Triple-A Gwinnett (1.0 IP, 1 K). From 5/29 to 9/13, he pitched to a 1.95 ERA over 34 outings, with 36 strikeouts over 32.1 innings. Allowed one earned run in his postseason debut on 10/3 vs. LAD. Appeared in a total of two games and allowed four runs over 2.2 innings while fanning three in the NLDS against the Dodgers.

2012

Acquired by the Braves from the Angels in exchange for RHP Tommy Hanson on 11/30. At home, went 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA with 27 strikeouts. On the road compiled a 5.60 ERA. Had a stellar month of May, allowing just one earned run in 12.1 innings (0.73 ERA) with 12 strikeouts in 12 relief appearances. • On the 15-day disabled list from 7/9-8/15 with a strained right biceps. He made three rehabilitation appearances with Salt Lake (AAA).

2011

Finished first full season in Majors at 5-5 with 32 saves (42 chances) and a 2.98 ERA (60.1 IP - 20 ER) in 62 appearances with Angels...Led Halos relief pitchers in appearances, tied for fourth most by a rookie in club history (Troy Percival, 1995)...Made first appearance as closer, April 5 at Tampa... In 13 games from March 31-April 29, recorded four saves, two holds and a 0.73 ERA (12.1 IP - 1 ER)...With 23rd save July 21, set Angels rookie saves record, surpassing Ken Tatum (1969)...With 30th save on Sept. 13, became just the fifth rookie closer since 2000 to notch 30 or more saves (Feliz, Kimbrel, Papelbon, Sasaki)...32 saves ranked 5th in A.L., while Walden's 10 blown saves were tied for most in Majors (Marmol)...50 of 62 outings were scoreless...Named to A.L. began season at Cedar Rapids, posting a 4-6 record with one complete game and a 2.18 ERA (107.1 IP - 26 ER) in 18 starts...Limited batters to a .207 clip...Promoted to Rancho Cucamonga where he registered a 5-2 record with a 4.04 ERA (49 IP - 22 ER) in nine starts with the Quakes...Earned California League Pitcher of the Week honors for the week of August 11.
