Began the season with the Royals and went 0-4, 10.27 in 6 starts there before he was designated for assignment on 5/8...was released on 5/16 and 3 days later was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract...was sent to Class AAA Louisville, where in 3 starts from 5/26-6/2 he went 2-1, 3.20...his contract was selected on 6/6 and he joined the Reds that day in St. Louis...made his first 3 apps for the Reds in relief (0-0, 1.29 ERA)...on 6/21 took the spot in the rotation vacated by disabled LHP Brandon Claussen...from 6/21-7/22 made his last 4 apps for the Reds as a starter (0-0, 9.45 ERA)...was designated for assignment on 7/26, when C David Ross came off the disabled list...on 7/28 accepted an outright assigment to Louisville and finished the minor league season with the Bats...was Louisville's Pitcher of the Month for August (6gs, 3-2, 3.26 ERA).
