Pitched a scoreless third of an inning on Aug. 28, at STL in his Braves debut... Split the remainder of the year between the FCL Braves and Triple-A Gwinnett, combining to play 21 games (one start) with a 2-0 record and a 2.91 ERA (6 ER/21.2 IP).

2021

Pitched in 23 games for San Francisco, going 2-1 with a 3.74 ERA (9 ER/21.2 IP) and 28 strikeouts...Allowed six earned runs over 1.0 combined inning in his outings Aug. 2 at Arizona and Sept. 4 vs. the Dodgers…In his remaining 21 games, allowed just three earned runs over 20.2 innings (1.31 ERA). ...His outing Sept. 4 vs. Los Angeles, in which he allowed three earned over 0.1 inning, was his only start of the season...In his 22 relief appearances, compiled a 2-0 record and a 2.53 ERA (6 ER/21.1 IP)...Allowed opponents to bat just .197 against him, allowing 15 hits in 76 at-bats...Made 10 appearances with Triple-A Sacramento, pitching to a 1-0 record and a 1.29 ERA…Allowed just five hits and two runs over 14.0 innings and struck out 24.

Returned to Japan for the 2020 season and posted a 3.86 ERA with 12 strikeouts in 7.0 innings over seven games for the Chiba Lotte Marines before his contract was voided on July 8...Was signed by the Reds as a free agent on Aug. 25, 2020 and assigned to Cincinnati’s Alternate Training Site.

2013

Went 4-7 with a 3.53 ERA (104.2 IP/41 ER) and 98 strikeouts in 21 total appearances (18 starts) between Jacksonville (Marlins' AA) and New Orleans (Marlins' AAA)...Signed with Miami as a minor league free agent on 4/9 after being released by Chicago (NL) on 4/4...Allowed one earned run over 17.0 innings in his first three starts with Jacksonville...Was 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA (25.2 IP/7 ER) in his first five starts with the Suns before going 0-5 over an eight-start stretch from 5/23 to 7/3...Was promoted to New Orleans on 7/13...Allowed one unearned run in 6.2 innings and earned the win in his debut with the Zephyrs on 7/13...Moved into the bullpen for his final three appearances with New Orleans...Was placed on the disabled list on 8/14 with a right elbow contusion and missed the remainder of the season...Pitched for Mazatlan in the Mexican Winter League and went 2-0 with 10 saves (10 chances) and a 0.00 ERA (20.1 IP/13 H/1 R/0 ER/5 BB/19 SO).

Jay was 8-14 with a 5.34 ERA (87 ER/146.2 IP) in 26 starts for Triple-A Iowa in his second full season with the I-Cubs...walked 46 and struck out 97 in 146.2 innings of work...Landed on the disabled list, April 7, with a right forearm strain...activated, April 21, to begin his season...Was 1-0 with a 2.31 ERA (3 ER/11.2 IP) in his first two starts before going 0-4 with a 10.38 ERA (25 ER/21.2 IP) in five May outings...Posted a 2.87 ERA (12 ER/37.2 IP) in six August starts after he logged a 5.73 ERA (45 ER/70.2 IP) the previous two months, combined...Tossed a season-high 7.0 innings three times, turning the trick the final time, August 26 at Oklahoma City (7.0 IP, 1 ER).

2010
