The All-Star selection was the fourth of his career and first since 2014 with San Francisco.... Did not play in the Midsummer Classic due to injury but still attended and participated in events.... Hit 18 homers for the Rangers, his highest total since

2017

Started 120 games in right fi eld, hitting .260 with 13 home runs and 67 RBI...His 27 infield hits were the fourth-most in the National League...Had the sixth-lowest OPS among National League players at .701...Was placed on the 10-day disabled list on May 15 (retroactive to May 13) with a left hamstring strain...returned from his rehab assignment and was reinstated from the DL on June 4...Hit his fi rst career pinch-hit home run on June 18 at Colorado, hitting a two-run homer off LHP Jake McGee to give the Giants a 4-3 lead in the 9th inning.

2016

Hit .289 (114-for-395) with 23 doubles, 13 home runs and 57 RBI in 106 games. Was named NL Player of the Week for April 25- May 1 after hitting .421 (8-for-19) with two home runs and 10 RBI. Hit his 200th career home run off Patrick Corbin on May 14 at Chase Field and became the first player since Marquis Grissom in 2003 to hit career home run #200 in a Giants uniform. Was out of the starting lineup for six games from May 21-27 with a mild hamstring strain. Recorded his 10th career walk-off hit on May 23 vs. SD, delivering a game-winning pinch-hit double in the ninth inning to give the Giants a 1-0 win. Missed 48 games with a right hamstring strain (June 2-July 30). Underwent surgery on his right hamstring on June 9 to remove the torn tendon…the procedure was performed by Dr. Dan Cooper in Dallas, Texas…Cooper is the head team physician for the Dallas Cowboys. Went 31-for-91 (.341) with three home runs and 12 RBI over his final 24 games of the season.

2015

Was baseball's iron man entering the 2015 campaign, however was placed on the disabled list on three separate occasions throughout the year missing a total of 110 games due to injuries....Hit .275 (57-for-207) with 13 doubles, one triple, nine home runs and 40 RBI in just 52 games, the fewest of his career....The Giants went 35-17 (.673) in games he started, compared to a 49-61 (.445) record when he was not in the starting lineup....Began the 2015 season on the 15-day disabled list...missed the first 36 games of the season with a fractured left forearm that he suffered in the Giants' third spring training game on March 5 after getting hit by an inside fastball from Cubs' RHP Corey Black....Had his 383 consecutive games streak end with him beginning the season on the disabled list...his streak marked the thirdlongest in Giants franchise history, behind Bill Terry (468, 1930-1933) and George Burns (459, 1915-1917)...his consecutive games streak started on Aug. 1, 2012 (his first game in a Giants uniform)....Was activated from the DL May 16 and hit .282 with seven extra base hits and 13 RBI in his next 18 games....Was out of the Giants' lineup for nine days (beginning June 3) before the team put him on the 15-day DL on June 12 because of tendinitis in his left wrist…suffered the injury while making a diving catch on the Pirates' Andrew McCutchen on June 1... was activated from the 15-day disabled list July 7 after having missed 30 games...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list again Aug. 20 (retroactive to Aug. 18) with a moderate oblique strain, an injury suffered on his final at-bat Aug. 17 at St. Louis...he did not appear in another game the rest of the season.

2014

The 2014 All-Star batted .277 with a career-high 106 runs scored along with 29 doubles, 10 triples, 20 home runs and 74 RBI in 162 games, completing his eighth big league season, his second full season with the Giants...Among NL leaders in runs (second), triples (tied for second), hits (third), total bases (fourth, 289) and multi-hit games (fourth)...Became the third Giants player in the last 10 seasons with 100+ runs scored (also: Barry Bonds, 129 in 2004, Aubrey Huff, 100 in 2010)...Became the first Giant to have over 700 plate appearances in a season since Brett Butler in 1990 (732)...in fact, became just the fifth Giant in SF-era history with over 700 plate appearances in a season, joining Willie Mays (706 - 1962), Bobby Bonds (3 times - 1969 - 720, 1970 - 745, 1973 - 738), Tito Fuentes (1973 - 731), and Chili Davis (1982 - 701)...Was one of four players to appear in all 162 games, joining KC's Alcides Escobar, ATL's Freddie Freeman and TB's Evan Longoria...Was the most durable player on SF's roster, starting all but one of the Giants' 162 games...played all but 23 defensive innings...Had his 331 consecutive games starts streak end on the second-to-last-day of the season (Sept. 27) to rest (ATL's Freddie Freeman now owns the longest games started streak at 168)...Pence's streak began Sept. 25, 2012 and had been the longest active streak in the bigs...Has still appeared in 383 consecutive games, the third longest streak in franchise history, behind Bill Terry (468, 1930-1933) and George Burns (459, 1915-1917)...his consecutive games streak started on Aug. 1, 2012 (his first game in a Giants uniform)...Only one other player in the last 45 years has started 300+ consecutive games in right field...Jeff Francoeur started 370 in a row for the Braves from 2005 to 2008...Since he joined SF, the only two Giants other than Pence to start in right field were Francisco Peguero on Sept. 23, 2012 against San Diego and Juan Perez on Sept. 27, 2014 versus San Diego...Not only did Pence play in every game, but he was also one of the most versatile Giants when it came to where he hit in the lineup...his versatility allowed him to fill and produce from the first, second, third and fifth spots in the lineup...Batted .351 (40-for-114) with RISP (3rd-highest in NL) and paced the Majors with a .404 clip (19-for-47) with RISP and two outs...Really struggled over his final 15 games, going 4-for-54 (.074) with two RBI and ended the season with one hit in his last 28 ABs...Hit just .165 (15-for-91) in Sept., the fourth-lowest clip among qualifying NL players.

2013

Posted one of the best seasons of his career in his first full season with San Francisco, hitting .283 (178-for-629) with 35 doubles, 27 HRs, 99 RBI and 22 stolen bases. Won the 2013 "Willie Mac" Award, given to the team's most inspirational player, as voted by players, coaches,trainers, fans and Willie McCovey.Became the seventh Giant to hit at least 20 HRs and steal 20 bases in a season and the first since Barry Bonds in 1998 (the others: Bobby Bonds, Willie Mays, Jeffrey Leonard, Glenallen Hill and Orlando Cepeda). Joined Los Angeles' (AL) Mike Trout as the only players in the Majors to hit 20-plus home runs, steal 20-plus bases and record 90-plus RBI. In fact, the only players in SF-era history to accomplish the feat of 20 HRs, 20 steals and 90 RBI are Willie Mays,
Orlando Cepeda, Bobby Bonds, Barry Bonds and now Pence. Started every one of the Giants' 162 games and became the first Giants player in the SF-era (since 1958) to start every regular season game in a season, and the first since Alvin Dark started all 154 games for the New York Giants in 1954. Also became the first Giants player since Bobby Thomson to start every game of a season in the outfield...Thomson started all 156 games in center field during the 1949 season for the New York Giants. Became the first NL player to start all 162 games in the
field (not at DH) since Prince Fielder with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2009...was also the first major league outfielder to start 162 games since Jeff Francoeur with the Atlanta Braves in 2007. Has started 171-consecutive games, which is the longest streak in the National League and the second-longest in the Majors behind TEX's Prince Fielder, who has started 505 consecutive contests. His 27 home runs were a career high and the most in a single season by a Giant since Barry Bonds in 2007 (28). Was one of five players selected by Manager Bruce Bochy to be on the final ballot for the All-Star Game...joined the Dodgers Yasiel Puig and Adrian Gonzalez, Nationals' Ian Desmond and Atlanta's Freddie Freeman...however, lost out to Freeman. His 54 multi-hit games were the third-most in the National League. His 51 RBI following the break were the second-most in the Majors (Alfonso Soriano, 52). Recorded his 1,000th career hit on April 9 with a single in the 6th inning off RHP Matt Belisle. Hit a two-out, two-strike, solo home run off CHC's RHPShawn Camp in the 9th inning that tied a game at 7-7 on April 14 at Wrigley Field in SF's 10-7, 10-inning win...that game-tying home run with two outs in the 9th was the latest into a game that he's hit a game-tying home run (ESPN Stats & Info). Became the first Giant since Barry Bonds to hit a gametying, two-out home run in the 9th inning or later, when down to the last strike...Bonds accomplished this feat on May 24, 1998 at St. Louis, hitting a two-run, two-out homer. Made a sliding catch with two outs in the 8th inning on July 13 at San Diego to preserve RHP Tim Lincecum's nohitter. Matched his career-high with five hits on July 24 against the Reds. Batted leadoff for the Giants on August 7 vs. Milwaukee…it marked the first time he started in the leadoff slot in the batting order since July 11, 2008 with Houston. Started the season a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen base attempts, the third-most consecutive stolen bases by a Giants player in a season without a caught stealing since
1974 ...only Stan Javier (22 steals in 1997) and Glenallen Hill (21 steals in 1995) had more...Pence's streak ended on August 8 vs. Milwaukee as he was caught trying to steal 2nd base on a botched hit and run play (Kieschnick at the plate). Hit the longest home run of his career on Aug. 27 at Colorado, hitting a 476-foot two-run shot to left-field off RHP Chad Bettis...marked the second-longest homer in the Majors during 2013 (ATL's Evan Gattis, 486 feet). Recorded a career high seven RBI on Sept. 14 at Los Angeles in SF's 19-3 win...all of Pence's seven RBI
were recorded in the first 5.0 innings and according to Elias, he is only the third Giants player since 1958 to drive in seven runs by the end of the 5th...Jeff Kent drove in seven in the first 4.0 innings against Cincinnati on July 24, 1998, and Jim Ray Hart had seven in the first 5.0 frames July 8, 1970 at Atlanta. During SF's four game series against the Dodgers from Sept. 12-15, he hit .471 (8-for-17) with five HRs and 12 RBI...became the first Giants player since Willie Mays in 1965 to homer in every game of a fourgame series against the Dodgers...his 12 RBI tied Dick Dietz for the most in a single series by a Giants player in SF-era history (since 1958). Was named the NL Player of the Week for Sept. 9-15 after hitting .448 (13-for-29) with one double, six home runs and 19 RBI...marked the third time in his career that he won this award, also winning it in 2010 (Aug. 30-Sept. 5) and 2007 (May 14-20). Recorded his ninth career walk-off hit and first as a Giant on Sept. 29 vs. San Diego with a single off RHP Huston Street. Was named the NL Player of the Month for Sept. as his 11 homers were tied for the most in the league and his 32 RBI topped all NL players...also ranked second with a .667 slugging pct. and 23 runs scored...also won this monthly award once in his career, back in May 2007 when he played for Houston (named Rookie of the Month). Signed a five year contract extension through 2018 with the Giants on the final day of the season.

2012

Was a trade deadline acquisition for the Giants to help bolster the offense...hit .219 (48-for-219) with 28 runs, 11 2Bs, two 3Bs, seven HRs and 45 RBI in 59 games for SF...Was acquired by the Giants from the Phillies on July 31 in exchange for OF Nate Schierholtz, minor league C Tommy Joseph and minor league RHP Seth Rosin...Batted .271 with 17 HRs and 59 RBI in 101 games for Philadelphia...At the time of the trade was leading the Phillies in hits (108), HRs (17), RBI (59), runs (59) and BBs (37)...Overall, between Philadelphia and San Francisco he hit .253 (156-for-617) with 87 runs, 26 2Bs, 24 HRs and 104 RBI in 160 games, tied for the third-most games played in the NL...Posted the first 100+ RBI season of his career and ranked fifth in the NL in runs batted in...His 45 RBI since joining SF were the most on the club and fourth-most in the NL (since Aug. 1)...His 32 go-ahead RBI were the second-most in the NL...Since the All-Star break hit just .213 (59-for-277), the eighth-lowest clip among all big league players...Recorded his second multi-homer game of the season and his third career walk-off home run on May 15 vs. Houston, hitting the game-winner off of Bret Myers in the bottom of the 10th inning...Hit his first home run in a Giants uniform on Aug. 12 vs. Colorado off of RHP Rafael Betancourt...with the game tied at 6-6 in the 8th inning and two men on base, Pence crushed a 0-1 pitch into left-center field to give the Giants a 9-6 lead...Hit his third career grand slam (first with Giants) on Sept. 14 at Arizona, hitting it off of LHP Tyler Skaggs to extend SF's lead to 5-0 in the 3rd inning. POSTSEASON HIGHLIGHTS...In his second career taste of the postseason he batted .210 (13-for-62) with one home run and four RBI in 16 games...Lit a fire under the Giants with a pre-game speech before Game 3 of the Division Series at Cincinnati that ignited a comeback that will go down as one of the best in baseball history.

Began the season at Lexington, where he earned SAL Rookie of the Year honors, hitting .338 (102x302) with 25 home runs and 60 RBI in 80 games...ranked fourth in the league in home runs...named Lexington's team MVP...earned SAL All-Star and Postseason All-Star honors...was a two-time SAL Player of the Week, receiving the honor for the weeks of May 9-15 and May 30-June 5...promoted to Class A Salem on July 26, where he finished the season with a .305 average, six home runs and 30 RBI...committed only one error in 109 total games played as an outfielder.

2004

Hit .296 with eight home runs and 37 RBI in his first pro season at Class A Tri-City...led Tri-City and ranked second in the New York-Penn League with a .518 slugging percentage...finished fourth in the league in extra-base hits (27) and fifth in doubles (18)...named Tri-City Defensive Player of the Month in August.
