2006
Carrasco won a career-best seven games for the Angels in 2006. The long man mainly pitched out of the bullpen, but he started three games early in the season to replace the injured Bartolo Colon. His ERA as a reliever (3.02) was more than two runs better than his mark as a starter (5.79). His 86 1/3 innings out of the bullpen were the third-most in the American League. Carrasco posted scoreless outings in 12 of his last 14 appearances and also gave the Halos their longest stint from a reliever all year (5 1/3 innings on Sept. 26 against the Rangers). He finished with a 3.41 ERA overall, the third-lowest mark out of the Angels bullpen, behind Francisco Rodriguez and Scot Shields.
