Grant Reed Anderson…he and wife, Kristan, were married on New Year’s Day 2023 and welcomed their first child, son Lennox, on 9/12/23…Grant’s twin brother Aidan is a right-handed pitcher in the Texas farm system who employs a similar unconventional pitching motion…the twins began playing organized baseball at the age of 10, with both boys starring on the mound and at catcher…under the watch of their father, Rod, the twins would hone their baseball skills each morning by hitting black-eyed peas with broomsticks and throwing baseballs through a tire swing…the brothers received offers to play baseball at McNeese State where Grant began experimenting with a sidearm release after he was inspired to do so by former teammate and SEA farmhand, Collin Kober…enjoys hunting, fishing and being outdoors in his spare time.

Went 2-1 with a 5.05 ERA (20 ER/35.2 IP) and 30 strikeouts over 26 relief outings with Texas in his first career Major League action…had two stints with the Rangers (5/29- 7/21, 7/30-8/25), splitting the rest of the campaign with Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA)…did not appear in postseason, but was included on Rangers’ roster for ALWC at TB…had his contract selected from Round Rock on 5/29 and made his Major League debut in a relief appearance. the following night on 5/30 at DET (W, 2.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 7 SO, 9 BF)…became the first Ranger ever and 19th player in MLB history to record 7+ relief SO in a debut…was scoreless in 17 of 26 G in 2023…pitched to a 2.25 ERA (3 ER/12.0 IP) over his first eight games, but posted a 7.47 ERA (13 ER/15.2 IP) across next 11 games to raise season ERA to 5.20…produced season-high 4.0 SHO IP on 7/8 at WAS (4.0 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 3 SO)…was optioned to Round Rock on 7/22, but recalled for second stint with Rangers on 7/30 and logged a 4.50 ERA (4 ER/8.0 IP) and 4 SO/7 BB over seven games before being optioned again on 8/26…combined to go 4-1 with one save, a 3.54 ERA (16 ER/40.2 IP), and 63 strikeouts (13.9 SO/9) in 25 G/2 GS for Double-A Frisco (4 G) and Triple-A Round Rock (21 G/2 GS)…struck out 63 of 169 (37.3%) batters faced in the Minor Leagues, the highest strikeout pct. among Texas farmhands (min. 40.0 IP).

Went undefeated (5-0) with six saves and a 3.48 ERA (26 ER/67.1 IP) over career-high 47 relief outings for Frisco (AA) and Round Rock (AAA)…posted career-best 12.16 strikeouts per nine innings figure, third-highest among Texas farmhands (min. 50.0 IP) to Larson Kindreich (12.66) and Emiliano Teodo (12.27)…opened the season with Frisco and was promoted to Round Rock on 8/28…named organization’s Reliever of the Month for May: 2-0, 3.07 ERA (5 ER/14.2 IP), 20 SO/4 BB in nine games…went 1-2 with one save and a 0.47 ERA (1 ER/19.0 IP) over 14 outings with Cangrejeros de Santurce of the Puerto Rican Winter League…struck out 24 of 63 (38.1%) batters faced while issuing just three walks.

Pitched out of the bullpen for Frisco (AA) and Hickory (A+), going 2-4 with a 5.76 ERA (35 ER/54.2 IP) and three saves in 35 appearances…averaged a career-best 10.0 strikeouts per nine innings…opened campaign with Hickory and was promoted to Frisco on 7/7.
