Sherrill appeared in a career-best 72 games in 2006 as the Mariners' left-handed specialist out of the bullpen. Left-handed batters hit only .173 against Sherrill. He stranded 45 of his team-high 59 inherited runners and didn't allow a home run all season.
2005
Started year with AAA Tacoma, but was recalled May 15...retired only batter faced after inheriting bases loaded jam vs. New York May 16, but was optioned following game...Recalled for a second time July 31 and spent remainder of season in Seattle...Stranded 23 of 26 inherited runners (88%)...Was second among Seattle relievers with four wins...Did not allow an earned run in 22 of 29 appearances...Limited opposing hitters to a .194 batting average against, and left-handed hitters to a .156 mark...Did not allow a run in first six appearances with Seattle...Mariners were 11-2 in his 13 appearances Aug. 30-Sept. 29 (2-0, 2.45)...Charged with loss #3 after allowing 3 hits and 4 earned runs without retiring a batter in final game of season; outing raised his ERA from 3.32 to 5.21 and his batting average against from .156 to .194...Was 1-3-7, 2.38 in 22 games with Tacoma...On the disabled list May 25-July 15 with a left shoulder strain, including three rehabilitation appearances with rookie-A Peoria.

Selected from Tacoma on July 15 after going 4-2, 2.32 with 13 saves in 36 games with Tacoma...13 saves tied for 7th in PCL...had just 9 walks and 62 strikeouts in 50.1 innings...made ML debut on July 16 vs. Cleveland, allowing 2 runs in 1.0 inning...suffered 5-4 loss Aug. 3 at Baltimore (#2) for first ML decision...earned first ML win, 4-3, Aug. 11 vs. Minnesota with 1.1 scoreless innings, retiring all 4 batters faced...had six consecutive scoreless outings Aug. 6-25 (8.0 IP)...earned second ML win, 7-5, Aug. 27 vs. Kansas City...was shut down for the season after outing on Sept. 6 because of workload...held lefties to a .239 average (11x46).

Began season with Winnipeg before signing as a minor league free agent with Seattle on July 2...appeared in 16 games with San Antonio with a 0.33 ERA (1 ER/27.1 IP)... walked 12 and struck out 32.
