Was the Brewers Opening Day rightfielder...was his first career start in rightfield...hit .332 (82-247) with 16 homers and 53 ribbies after the break...finished in a tie for fifth in the National League with 10 outfield assists ...tied for seventh in the N.L. with 42 doubles this season...his daytime batting average of .323 finished eighth in the National League doubled twice in the second inning on Sept. 24 vs. St. Louis and became the first Brewer to accomplish that feat since Sept. 20, 1992 when Paul Molitor doubled twice in the sixth inning at County Stadium vs. Baltimore...matched his career-high with five hits twice this season, Aug. 4 at Shea Stadium against the Mets and Sept. 5 at Cincinnati...hit his third career grand slam on Sept. 2 at Miller Park vs. San Diego off Chris Oxspring...hit two homers on Aug. 2 at Shea Stadium against the Mets, marking his ninth multi-homer game of his career...hit .310 (27-87) in August with five roundtrippers and 15 runs batted in...hit safely in 19 of 24 games in August...hit in career-high 16 consecutive games from July 5-23...the streak was the longest by a Brewer in '05...hit .379 (36-95) with five homers and 23 RBI in July...tied for first in the National League in hit batsmen with 19...hit his first home run of the season on April 12 vs Pittsburgh, the homer, off Josh Fogg, was the 150th in his career...Was named winner of the "Good Guy" award by the Milwaukee Chapter of the BBWAA.

Voted onto the National League all-star team in comeback from 2002 season-ending ankle injury...earned the club's Michael Harrison Award for Community Service...posted career marks in runs batted in (95) and walks (58), despite missing the final month of the season...did not commit an error the entire season...has not committed an error in his last 134 games, dating back to June 4, 2002 vs Chicago (N)...recorded 11 outfield assists...began season on the disabled list with a sprained left wrist suffered on March 1...hit .250 (5-20) in 20-day rehab assignment with Double A Huntsville April 2 - 8...activated by Milwaukee on April 9...collected first career five-hit game April 11 at Arizona...was the first five-hit game by a Brewer since May 15, 2001 (Tyler Houston at PHI)...became just the seventh lefthanded hitter to get three hits in a game against Randy Johnson...hit in season-high 10 straight games May 6 - 16...belted 100th career home run May 11 at Cincinnati off Jeff Austin...equaled career mark blasting three home runs on May 21 vs San Diego...first three-homer game came on April 28, 2001 vs Montreal...eighth career multi-homer game...had a great June hitting .327 with eight home runs, 26 RBI and 10 multi-hit games...homered in four straight games June 22 - 26...blasted his first grand slam of the season, second of his career, on July 5 vs Colorado off Nelson Cruz...named to the NL All-Star team by the fans vote for the e-Topps Final Vote...did not appear in game, but was on deck in the top of the ninth...posted best numbers of the season in August, hitting .360 (32-89) with seven home runs and 23 RBI...hit .420 (29-69) in his final 18 games dating back to August 8...homered in four straight games August 25 - 28...plated at least one run in each of his last six games (12 RBI) and 11 of his last 12 (20 RBI)...suffered a season-ending fractured left thumb after banging it off Jason LaRue's shin guard trying to score on August 28...placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on August 29...closed out the second half hitting .342 (51- 149) with eight home runs and 27 RBI. Had season abruptly cut short after dislocating his right ankle, tearing ligaments on the outside of the ankle and partially tearing ligaments on the inside of the ankle on June 17 vs Houston ... placed on disabled list on June 18 thru the remainder of the season ... had much better success on the road than at home hitting nearly 100 points higher on the road (.293) than at Miller Park (.197) ... hit a 463-foot bomb on May 6 at Cincinnati off Scott Sullivan - was the third ball hit over the batterbs eye at Cinergy Field joining Houstonb's Lance Berkman and St. Louisb Albert Pujols ... longest home run by a Brewer since Jeromy Burnitz cleared the roof at Tiger Stadium with a 479-foot blast July 9, 1999 ... collected his 500th career hit belting a three-run home run off Giovanni Carrara on May 21 vs Los Angeles ... hit his first career grand slam on May 31 at San Diego off Dennis Tankersley ... raised season average 23 points over the course of his last 17 games hitting .316 (18-57) prior to suffering season-ending injury.
2001
Began the season with a bang hitting .363 with nine home runs and 23 RBI in his first 25 games before being sidelined with a strained shoulder and placed on the disabled list....appeared in 105 games with the Brewers this season...established a career-high drawing 36 walks...hit .348 with nine home runs and 23 RBI in April (24 games)...went 3-for-4 hitting a career-high three home runs and drove in a career-high six runs April 28 vs Montreal...followed by going 4-for-5 equaling his career-high with four hits and six runs batted in posting his second consecutive multi-home run game and becoming the 23rd player in Major League history to hit five home runs in two consecutive games...fell one RBI short of setting the Major League record for most RBI in two consecutive games...named the National League Player of the Week for April 24-30 after batting .625 (15-24) with five home runs, 14 runs batted in, a 1.333 slugging percentage and a 2.000 OPS...became just the second Brewers player to be named NL Player of the Week and the first since Jeff Cirillo (1999)...established a career-high with his 13-game hitting streak from April 21 - May 23...placed on the 15-Day Disabled List with a sprained right shoulder on May 4...activated from the DL on May 19...went yard twice on June 14 at Cleveland...placed on the 15-Day Disabled List on July 31, retroactive to July 29, with a partially torn adductor muscle in his left thumb...activated from the disabled list on August 28...collected 15 extra-base hits (nine doubles, one triple and five home runs) driving in 15 runs after returning from his second stint on the disabled list ...committed just three errors this season posting a .986 fielding percentage (221 total chances) and collecting eight outfield assists.

Was the Brewers Most Valuable Player, Home Run Champion and winner of the Harvey Kuenn Award for Batting Excellence . . . was the Brewers leading hitter in terms of batting average (.306) and home runs (34) . . . of his 34 home runs, 21 were solo shots, nine were two-run homers and four were three-run blasts . . . set a Brewers National League record for extra base hits with 74 . . . recorded 12 outfield assists, tying teammate Jeromy Burnitz for the team lead and finishing in a tie for fifth in the NL . . . led the club's outfielders by participating in three double plays . . . batted .340 in day games . . . hit .377 in August . . . blasted 20 home runs after the All-Star Break ranking him seventh in the loop during that period . . . hit .283 against lefthanded pitchers and .309 against righthanders . . . had four-hit games on May 31 at San Diego and August 20 at Houston . . . led the Brewers with 41 multi-hit games . . . had four RBI games on September 21 vs Pittsburgh and September 29 at Houston . . . was 11-12 in stolen base attempts . . . was not caught stealing until his final game of the season on September 30 at Houston snapping a string of 14 straight steals dating back to 1999, a Brewers National League record . . . was on the 15-Day Disabled List from May 7-28 with a fractured middle finger on his right hand suffered on May 5 vs Montreal when he hurt the finger on a swing . . . was hitting .298 before the injury and batted .304 afterwards.

Spent his first full season in the big leagues, appearing in 135 games...earned the Brewers Manager's Award...platooned in left field with Alex Ochoa...had a team-leading 14 outfield assists, the highest total for a Brewer since Jeromy Burnitz had 13 in 1997...tied with Philadelphia's Doug Glanville for fifth in the National League in outfield assists...ranked eighth among NL leftfielders with a .974 fielding percentage...had a team-leading 43 doubles becoming the first Brewer to hit over 40 two-baggers since Jeff Cirillo had 46 in 1997...moved ahead of Robin Yount (42 in 1983) into sole possession of sixth place in Brewers franchise history for the most doubles in a single season...batted .326 off righthanded pitchers and had a .602 slugging percentage against righthanders, good for ninth and seventh, respectively, in the NL...ranked eighth in the NL with a .347 batting average with runners in scoring position...recorded the first multi-home run game of his career when he smashed two bombs on April 10 at Houston...matched a career high with four runs batted in at Atlanta on July 28...batted over .300 in every month of the season except June (.270) and August (.288)...suffered a bruise on his right hand when he was struck by a pitch September 9 at Arizona by Armando Reynoso.

Opened the season at Triple A Louisville...batted .403 with three homers and 21 RBI to start the season for the Redbirds...was recalled from Louisville April 23...made a spectacular Major League debut on April 24 at San Francisco going two-for-four with a single, a homer, two runs scored and an RBI...became the first player in Brewers history to homer in his Major League debut...was the second player in Milwaukee baseball history (Chuck Tanner, 1955, Milwaukee Braves) to accomplish the feat...hit four home runs in his first 21 Major League at bats...hit the game-winning home run off Jay Powell in the 11th inning May 30 vs Florida...set a career high with four hits June 8 at Kansas City...was optioned to Louisville June 20 and recalled June 23...returned to Louisville after being optioned on June 30...batted .330 with seven home runs in 55 games for Louisville...was recalled from Louisville August 16 for his final stint of the season with Milwaukee.
1997
Batted .236 in 93 games at Tucson of the Pacific Coast League...hit .290 for the month of June...went 3-for-4 with two homers on May 11 vs Vancouver...hit in 19 of 23 games with 13 extra-base hits from April 10 through May 4...in the Arizona Fall League with Sun Cities, he batted .297 and led the league in RBI (38), tied for second in home runs (10), fourth in slugging percentage (.594) and fifth in extra-base hits (21)...on October 21 vs Mesa went four-for-five with three home runs and eight RBI.
1996
Split between Class A Stockton and Double A El Paso...batted .348 at Stockton and .286 at El Paso...combined for 25 extra base hits in 215 at bats...at El Paso on April 9 vs Midland he went 4-for-5 with a triple and a home run...from April 21-26 he batted .522...when leading off an inning he batted .556...closed the season at Stockton with a 13-game hitting streak from August 18 to September 1.
1995
Signed by Corey Rodriguez and Kevin Christman...began his professional career with Helena of the Rookie Pioneer League...batted .321 in seven games before being promoted to Class A Stockton in late July...spent just two weeks with the Ports, hitting three home runs in 47 at bats, before being promoted to Double A El Paso where he finished the season...in just his second game with the Diablos, he went 4-4 with four RBI in an 8-3 win against Midland on August 10...batted a combined .279 with four home runs and 34 RBI in 154 at bats on the season.
