Was placed on the DL for Class-A Frederick with a right latissimus strain, August 14.

Did not pitch after spring training, due to forearm discomfort that was later diagnosed as a flexor mass strain... Underwent "Tommy John" surgery on his right elbow, June 27, 2013, performed by Dr. James Andrews... Named the O's #1 prospect by Baseball America following the season...
