Signed to a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels on March 30, 2023. Appeared in two games with Los Angeles-AL, not recording a hit in two at-bats with two strikeouts. In 63 games with Triple-A Salt Lake, slashed .281/.345/.414 with six doubles, two triples, six homers and 26 RBI. Spun a .321 (17-for-53) batting average with runners in scoring position with 18 RBI…had hit best month at the plate in June, slashing .308/.379/.365 in 17 games.

Spent the season at Louisville, his first full season at Class AAA...Made 71 apps overall, including 38 starts at catcher and three starts as the team's designated hitter...Played one inning in LF...On 1/19/22 was invited to 2022 Major League Spring Training camp.
