Chin-lung Hu was a member of Taiwan's Junior National Team from 2000-2002...Batted .474 with four home runs and 12 RBI to help Taiwan finish second in the World Junior Championship Tournament...Pitched and played second base and shortstop at Nan Ying Vocational High School in Tainan City, Taiwan.

Made the second Opening Day roster of his career, breaking camp with the Mets...Also started the season with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2008...Appeared in 22 games for New York...Played 10 games at second base and one at shortstop...Picked up his only hit as a Met onApril 5 at Philadelphia...Singled in the seventh inning against J.C. Split last season between Los Angeles (NL) and Albuquerque (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League...Started the season with the Triple-A Isotopes before being recalled to the majors on June 17...Returned to Triple-A on June 23, before he was called back to the Dodgers on September 6...Appeared in 14 games for Dodgers and made six starts at shortstop...Had a season-high four hits on May 9 vs. Nashville...Also scored a season-high three times in that game...Hit .365 (27-74) with 13 RBI in May for the Isotopes after posting a .211 (12-57) batting average with one extra-base hit in April...Compiled a .364 (36-99) batting average at home for Albuquerque.

Recalled by the Dodgers on September 13 and went 2-for-5 (.400) and two RBI in five games...Made one start at shortstop on October 4 in the season finale vs. Colorado, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI...Entered game as pinch-runner and scored key runs against Colorado on October 2 and 3...Batted .294 with six homers and 53 RBI in 130 games for Albuquerque, including a .352 (63-for-179) average after the All-Star break...Excelled in the clutch, hitting .297 (38-for-128) with runners in scoring position and .308 (61-for-198) with runners on base...Hit .250 (14-for-46) with a homer and seven RBI in 33 Spring Training games before being optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 5.

The Taiwanese shortstop made his first Opening Day roster after hitting .276 with three triples while playing excellent defense in 22 Spring Training contests...Started 23 games at shortstop and seven at second base before being optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on June 9...hit just .159 (17-for-107) with seven RBI in 49 games during that stint...Overall, batted .181 (21-for-116) with nine RBI in the Major Leagues and made just one error in 65 games at shortstop and second base...Recalled on Sept. 1 when Jeff Kent was sent to the disabled list with torn cartilage in his knee...hit .295 with a homer and 15 RBI in 41 games with Las Vegas...The Dodgers were 41-24 in games he appeared in...On April 1, became the first Taiwan-born player to steal a base when he swiped second base.

Was named the Dodgers' Branch Rickey Minor League Player of the Year and reached the big leagues for the first time in his career...was named to the World Team in the XM Radio All-Star Futures Game at AT&T Park in San Francisco on July 8 and earned the game's MVP Award, going 2-for-2 with two RBI...batted .241 (7-for-29) in 12 games (seven starts) for the Dodgers...made his Major League debut on Sept. 1 at San Diego and went 0-for-1...registered his first Major League hit, a solo home run, on Sept. 11 vs. San Diego off right-hander Brett Tomko...became the first Dodger rookie to homer in his first Dodger Stadium at-bat since Jason Repko on April 12, 2005...became the fifth Major League player born in Taiwan and fourth Dodger, joining Chin-Feng Chen, Hong-Chih Kuo and Chin-hui Tsao...the only non-Dodger is New York's Chien-Ming Wang Became the second Taiwanese player and first position player to homer in a Major League game...the first was teammate Hong-Chih Kuo on June 12...was rated by Baseball America as the best defensive shortstop in the Southern League in the annual "Best Tools" issue...was named to the Southern League All-Star team at season's end...began the year at Double-A Jacksonville and hit .329 with six homers and 34 RBI before being promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on July 12...batted .318 (61-for-192) with 10 doubles, eight homers and 28 RBI for the 51s...while with Las Vegas, batted .381 (24-for-63) against left-handers...combined to hit .325 with 40 doubles, 62 RBI, 89 runs scored and 15 steals in the two minor league stops...committed just 16 errors in 127 games...hit 16 homers combined between Double-A, Triple-A, and the Major Leagues, surpassing his previous best of eight set in 2005...rated as the 11th-best prospect in the Dodger organization, according to Baseball America and 10th-best by baseballprospectus.com entering the season.

Played for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .193 (11-for-57) with two doubles and seven runs scored in 16 games...Played the entire season at shortstop for Jacksonville and hit .254 with five homers, 34 RBI and 71 runs scored, which was tied for fifth in the Southern League...Battled an eye problem that hampered his vision and led to his lowest batting average in four professional seasons...Led the Suns in games (125), at-bats (488), and runs (71) and tied for first in stolen bases (11) while playing a tremendous defensive shortstop...Had three four-hit games, going 4-for-5 on April 15, 4-for-6 with two doubles on May 18 and 4-for-5 with a double and a homer on July 14...Named to the Southern League All-Star Team at midseason and year-end...in the All-Star Game, he started at shortstop and went 0-for-2...Participated in the MLB Futures Game during the All-Star break on July 9...started at shortstop and went 1-for-3 with an RBI-double for the World Team...Named to the Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars squad on Oct. 27.
