In August 2019, the Amarillo Sod Poodles hosted "Bachar Strong Night" as a show of encouragement for Lake's father, David, who was diagnosed with cancer in January 2018. The Sod Poodles took the field in a Padres throwback-themed jersey with #BacharStrong on the sleeve and the phrase "No One Fights Alone" on the back, a phrase that became a Bachar family rallying cry in David's fight against cancer. The Bachar Strong jerseys were auctioned off following the game, with the proceeds going toward the Bachar family's medical expenses. The Padres also donated various items, including signed bats from Eric Hosmer and Wil Myers as well as a signed game-worn Padres jersey. Bachar Strong T-Shirts were also available in the Sod Poodles team store...Prior to his 2016 campaign with the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, was ranked No. 100 on Baseball America's Top 100 Draft Prospects. Also tabbed as the No. 1 prospect in the Northwoods League on Baseball America's 2015 Summer College League Top Prospects Index ... His 103 strikeouts led the UW-Whitewater pitching staff and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference while finishing fifth in the nation. His strikeout-total tied for the third-most in a single season in school program history. ... Was a member of the UW-Whitewater football team, and played football and baseball at Wheaton North High School where he was all-conference for baseball and football and all-area in baseball.

Worked in a career-high 42 games for Double-A San Antonio and posted a career-best 2.69 ERA (18 ER, 60.1 IP) and a 5-1 record for the Missions...All 42 appearances he made came out of the bullpen, making it his first season he had not made a single start ... prior to 2023, the most appearances he had made in a single season was 27 (done in both 2022 and 2018)...Led the Missions in holds (eight) and appearances (42), and among San Antonio pitchers who made at least 20 appearances, his 2.69 ERA ranked second best to just Kevin Kopps' 2.63 ERA in his 33 appearances...Logged five saves on the year after posting a career-high six saves in 2022 ... prior to his 11 saves between the two seasons, he had just three saves in his prior four combined Minor League seasons...In the first half of the season, had a 4.01 ERA (11 ER, 24.2 IP) ... in the season's second half, he had a 1.77 ERA (seven ER, 35.2 IP) with 37 strikeouts against 11 walks...After posting a 8.10 ERA in eight April appearances, he bounced back in May with a 0.96 ERA in eight appearances... in each of the remaining four months of the season, his ERA did not exceed 2.45. Made 13 appearances (7 starts) between the AZL Padres and Fort Wayne (A), going 5-1 with a 3.38 ERA (19 ER, 50.2 IP)...Did not allow a run through his 1st 4 appearances while with AZL Padres 1 but went on to allow opponents to score at least 1 run in 8 of his last 9 games between AZL Padres 1, AZL 2 and FW...Assigned to FW on July 28 and made 6 consecutive starts for the TinCaps, tossing 5.0 innings-or-more in 5 of those starts and 6.0 innings-or-more in 3 of those starts...Earned Midwest League Pitcher of the Week honors for FW for the week ending on August 20, during which he earned the win in his start on August 17 after tossing 7.0-perfect-innings vs. South Bend…FW ended up falling one out shy of a perfect game. Made 1 start for FW in Game 2 of the MWL Championship Series vs. Quad Cities, suffering the loss after allowing 1 R (earned) on 4 hits and 4 BB in 3.1 IP with 2 SO.
