Had 11 pinch-hit RBI,T2nd in NL, and the most by a St. Louis rookie since Joe Frazier(15, 1954, team record). Was 8-for-31 (.258) as pinch hitter, 11 RBI and 5 doubles. Injured his right oblique on 5/22 and was placed on the 15-day disabled list 5/23-6/22, missing 27 games. Played in six games between Springfield (AA) and Memphis (AAA) on a rehab assignment, going 4-17 (.235) with a home run and three RBI. Recorded first career stolen base on 7/24 vs. LAD. His HR snapped 6-6 tie in 4th inn. at CHI(7/27)& was GWRBI; had six GWRBI. Collected a career-best 4 hits twice: 4/15 vs. CHI and 8/12 at PHI. His season high hit streak occurred in September, hitting in 12-straight from 9/12-24 (17-42, .405, 3B, HR, 5 RBI).
