He and his wife Amanda reside in Leander, TX...Hit .461 with 11 HR, 40 RBI and five stolen bases as junior at Westwood High School in Texas in 2001...Selected as a Second-Team High School All- American by Baseball America in 2002 after batting .571 (64-for-112) with 49 runs scored, 11 doubles, 12 HR, 45 RBI and six stolen bases as a senior at Westwood High School...Rated the 33rd-best prospect overall and fourth-best in the state of Texas prior to the draft by Baseball America in 2002...Signed by Tim Grieve (Tigers).
2010
Played in 53 games batting .257 with eight doubles and 29 RBI with Gwinnett (AAA) in his first season in the organization. Appeared on the Major League roster on two separate occasions...Had his contract purchased on 5/14 from Gwinnett (AAA).Was hitting .259 in 26 games at the time of his call-up...Appeared as a pinch-hitter on 5/16 and belted his second career double and his first ML hit since 6/15/08 in his first career appearance as a Brave...Placed on the disabled list from 5/24-7/27 with a right great toe sprain suffered 5/23 at PIT, his only start with the big-league Club. Hit .385 (5-for-13) with three RBI in four rehab games with Rome (A) & GWI (AAA)...Went 0-for-3 on 5/23 at PIT in his only ML start (LF) in 2010 and his first since 6/15/08...Was recalled a second time from GWI on 7/27; his only appearance was as a pinch-runner on 7/29 vs. WSH before being designated for assignment on 7/31. He joined the Gwinnett (AAA) Club where he played the remainder of the season.

Spent the entire season with Triple-A Toledo...His 128 games played and 64 RBI each ranked second on the team...Played 118 games in the outfield (72 in CF, 45 in RF, 7 in LF)...Ranked third on the Club with 16 home runs...His 139 strikeouts were third-most on the Mud Hens...Hit .331 (50-for-151) against lefties and .235 (77-for-328) vs. right-handers...In June, hit .312 (29-for-93) with 2 HR, 2 3B, 6 2B and 14 RBI.
