Hit .269 (49-for-182) with 16 extra base hits and 13 stolen bases in 50 games with the Giants. Started 46 games with San Francisco (44 at third base and two at shortstop). His 40 stolen bases were the fifth-most in the Majors. Went 2-for-5 with two RBI and stolen a base in his first start with the Giants on July 30...since RBI became an official statistic in 1920, the only other players to drive in two runs and steal a base in their first start for the Giants are Johnny Vergez (1931 at Philadelphia) and Fran Healy (1971 vs. Cubs) (Elias). Suffered a hamstring strain on Sept. 25 at San Diego and missed the final week of the season. Hit .296 with 12 homers and 47 RBI in 91 games with the Twins.
