Tucson on 7/29...was bothered late in the season by a sore right shoulder
and made just 2 minor league starts...on 9/12 was acquired by the Reds to
complete the 8/11 deal that sent OF Adam Dunn to the Diamondbacks...did
not pitch for the Reds but in 4 pinch-hit apps produced 3rbi and 2 gamewinning
hits...in the 3-2 win on 9/13 at Ari made his Reds debut in the 10th
inning produced an RBI-double off Tony Pena that snapped the 2-2 tie...in
the 4-3 win on 9/20 vs Mil produced a 2-run single off CC Sabathia that
erased the 3-2 deficit...made Ari's Opening Day roster...in his first 4 starts

and fifth with 152.2 innings pitched...Made his Major League debut on April 6 at Washington, picking up the win, tossing 5.0 shutout innings, allowing only 1 hit while striking out 6...On Aug. 18 at Atlanta, he went 4-for-5 with a double, 2 home runs, 4 runs scored and 6 RBI...he set club records with 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 home runs and 6 RBI by a pitcher, and became the first pitcher to have at least 6 RBI in a game since Philadelphia's Robert Person had 7 RBI on June 2, 2002...he was the first pitcher to have 2 home runs in a game since Florida's Dontrelle Willis hit a pair on Sept. 20, 2006...he was the first D-back since Shea Hillenbrand on July 7, 2003 to have at least 4 hits, 4 runs, 2 homers and 6 RBI in game...became the first pitcher to have 4 runs and 4 hits in a game since Danny Jackson in 1988.
