2014

Went 3-3 with 25 saves and a 3.94 ERA in 50 games...Became the third Toronto Blue Jay pitcher to record three straight 20 save seasons (Tom Henke-7, 1986-1992 & Billy Koch-3, 1999-2001)... Missed the first 37 games of the season due to a left abdominal strain...Returned from his rehab assignment and activated from the 15-day DL on May 11…Made four rehab appearances at Single-A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire...Prior to the All-Star break, posted a 1.23 ERA (3 ER/22.0 IP) while limiting hitters to a .217 avg. and was 14-for-16 in save opportunities... 2013

Recorded 34 saves in 36 opportunities…His 94.4 save percentage ranked 1st in the AL & finished T-1st in the Majors with S. Cishek of MIA (94.4, 34-36) among relievers with at least 30-save opportunities. His 94.4 save percentage ranked as the highest for any one season in club history…The previous team record was held by Tom Henke set in 1992 (91.9 save percentage, 34-37). Retired 25 consecutive batters from April 13-May 7, which is T-2nd longest streak in club history (Dave Stieb, retired 26 straight in 1989). Has converted 56 of 60 save opportunities (93.3percent) since taking over as the closer on May 9, 2012 (4th best save percentage in Majors over that period). Ranks 5th on the all-time club saves list with 65. His 34 saves in 2013 ranked T-6th for most in club history in a single season (Henke-1992 & 1987). Had a streak of 13.0 straight innings (48 batters) without issuing a walk from Opening Day until May 20 at TB. In his 7th season in the Majors, was his first season as the team closer, assuming the role on May 9... Posted a career high in strikeouts (67) and had a career low opponents average (.195)...His .195 opponents average ranked 7th in the AL for pitchers with aminimum of 60 IP... His .172 average vs. left-handed hitters ranked 6th in the AL with a minimum of 100 at-bats...Converted 22 of 25 save opportunities and 22 of 24 after assuming closers role... After May 9 converted 15 consecutive saves and each of his last six... In his 22 saves did not allow a single run while issuing just two walks and 10 hits... Also faced the minimum batters in 13 of the 22...On the road allowed only six runs for a 1.86 ERA and a .186 opponents average... During the day allowed just two runs for a 0.86 ERA...Posted a 5.02 ERA vs. AL East opponents and a 0.51 vs. the rest of AL and NL.

2011

Appeared in 55 games with the Blue Jays all out of the bullpen... JUST WIN BABY: Matched his career high (prev: 2006) with six wins... At 6-0 became only the third Blue Jays pitcher and first since Dennis Lamp (11-0) and Tom Filer (7-0) in 1985 to win at-least six games in a season without a loss... Became the first Blue Jays pitcher to start a season at least 6-0 since John Frascatore in 1999 (went 7-0)... His six wins were tied for the Club lead by a reliever with Shawn Camp and was T-3rd in the AL... Was 3rd on the Club with seven holds... STREAKING: Had a stretch of 16.2 scoreless innings pitched from July 26-Aug. 30 which was the longest by any Blue Jays pitcher and a new career high... Posted a record of 4-0 with a one save and a 1.61 ERA (28.0IP/5ER) in 27 games after the All-Star Break... WHAT A SAVE: Matched his career high as a reliever with three innings pitched on Aug. 21 at OAK, struck out a career high five as a reliever and did not allow a hit to pick up his 2nd save of the season... Allowed a run in just nine of his 55 appearances and more than one in only three contests... HANDLES THE LEFTIES: Held opponents to a .228 average, however LH hitters batted only .216 with only six extra base hits, all doubles... MINORS: Was optioned to Las Vegas (AAA) on April 8 and appeared in one game with the 51's pitching two scoreless innings... Was recalled on April 12 and spent the remainder of the season with the Blue Jays.

2010

Recorded the win in three of the Jays first six games of the season becoming only the sixth pitcher in ML history to do so and first since Jose Melendez with SD in 1992... Won back to back games April 8 at TEX and April 9 at BAL becoming the first Blue Jays pitcher since Jesse Carlson Sept. 2 and 3, 2008... His five wins tied for the Club lead by a reliever (Scott Downs)... Struck out multiple batters in 17 of his 56 appearances this season.

2009

Made 21 total appearances, including five starts over two separate stays with the club this past season... DISABLED: Began the season on the disabled rehabbing his shoulder...Was activated on April 30... In total made 18 appearances, including four starts in the minors, posting a 2.52 ERA... START ME UP: All five starts came in his first recall from May 23 to June 13... Posted a 2-3 record with a 6.23 ERA in 26 innings... Allowed 40 hits and a .354 opponents average in a starting role... May 29 collected his first win as a starter since June 30, 2006... RETURN TO 'PEN: Upon being recalled in August was used exclusively as a reliever... In 16 appearances was 0-1 with a 5.14 ERA in 14 innings... Fanned 13 batters, while opponents hit .317... Picked up his first save, Aug. 21 vs. LAA and first since Sept. 24, 2007... WELCOME BACK: May 23 made his first appearance in the majors since Sept. 24, 2007 and his first start since July 24, 2006 after missing the entire 2008 season... ROAD TRIP: Was more effective pitching on the road, posting a 4.08 ERA in 11 outings, two starts... Also held AL East foes to a 4.20 ERA in 11 appearances, including one start.

Was his first full season in the majors... Was 6-10, with a 5.07 ERA in 19 appearances (17 starts) with Toronto... 6-7, 4.73 ERA before the All-Star break...Promoted from AAA Syracuse on Apr. 26, and made his Major League debut Apr. 27 vs. BAL, allowing 2 ER over 4.0 IP (loss)...Walked only four batters in six May starts... Recorded his 1st Major League win May 7 at LAA, allowing just one hit through 7.1 innings... Led all rookie starters allowing only 2.01 walks per nine innings... T-10th in wins by a rookie with six, 7th in starts (17), 8th in innings pitched (94), and 10th in batting avg. allowed (.275)... Had run off 15.1 scoreless innings vs. the Angels... Earned his 1st Major League victory on May 7 vs. LAA (3-1)...In the minors was 1-5, with a 4.85 ERA in Syracuse (AAA)... Walked only eight batters in 42.2 IP.

2005

Promoted twice during the season, he combined to pitch to a 13-4 record with a 2.12 ERA between Lansing, Dunedin and New Hampshire... Dominated the Midwest League to start the season, being selected as the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week after a pair of starts in which he allowed just five hits and no earned runs... Finished April 4-0 with a 1.53 ERA earning the nod as the Blue Jays Organizational Pitcher of the Month... Selected to participate in the Midwest League All-Star Game, but was promoted to Dunedin where he posted a 6-1 record with a 2.01 ERA in 10 starts... Named as a Blue Jays Minor League Star of the Month in June while with Dunedin... Finished the season in New Hampshire going 3-3 with a 2.93 ERA... Combined to pitch 152.2 innings in 2005, recording 139 strikeouts against 21 walks... Made 26 starts in 2005, holding the opposition to three or fewer earned runs in all but two of those games (and two or less in 20 of 26 starts)... Was selected by Baseball America as the 6th top prospect in the organization.

2004

Drafted by the Blue Jays in the fourth round (117th selection overall) of the 2004 First-Year Player Draft... Assigned to Auburn of the NewYork-Penn League (R) after leading UCLA in his senior season in wins (10), starts (17) and ERA (3.16)... Posted a 3-1 record with a 3.48 ERA in his debut season as a pro, with 45 strikeouts and 10 walks... Threw 7.0 shutout innings and limited Batavia to three hits in collecting the win in his first professional start on July 12.
