Morse was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma for a third time on Aug. 27. He had a pinch-hit single against Oakland on Aug. 15. Morse underwent right knee surgery July 6 for a torn medial meniscus. Five of his 15 hits went for extra bases in 2006. Morse hit .248 with five home runs and 34 RBIs in 57 games for Tacoma.
