Led the team with 60 starts in LF...led Reds pinch hitters in AB (34), hits (8) and RBI (5)... established career highs in apps (116), doubles (26) and HR (15) and tied his career high in RBI (46)... from 8/31-9/14 missed 14g while on the disabled list with a bulging cervical disc...made 10 apps and 6 starts after he came off the disabled list (3-26, 2hr, 9rbi)...also made starts in CF (3gs) and RF (7gs)...in the batting order hit second (2gs), fourth (13gs), fifth (26gs), sixth (16gs) and seventh (13gs)...in his last 36ab of the season produced 5hr and 13rbi...4 of his last 5 hits of the season were homers...on 4/28 vs Hou produced his first career pinch-hit HR (off Geoff Geary)... had 2-homer games on 6/3 at StL and 8/25 at Mil...on 7/31 vs Col made his first start in CF since 9/2/06 for Mil vs Fla...on 9/26 at Hou snapped a season-high 0-for-20 skid with a 2-run HR off Felipe Paulino...on 9/30 vs StL hit his first career grand slam (off John Smoltz)...on 11/20 refused an outright assignment and elected free agency...on 12/11 was re-signed to a minor league contract and was invited to 2010 Major League spring training camp.

Spent most of the season at Class AAA Nashville, where he led the club in HR (23)...was promoted on 8/13 and appeared in 10g for the Brewers before he was designated for assignment on 9/10...was outrighted off the 40-man roster 2 days later and elected free agency following the season...on 12/16 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract with an invitation to 2009 Major League spring training camp.
2007
Spent most of the season at Class AAA Nashville...also played in 10g for the Brewers and in 4 rehab apps at Class AA Huntsville...began the season on Mil's disabled list with a strained right oblique muscle... on 5/14, after rehab assignments at Huntsville and Nashville, was reinstated from the DL and optioned to Nashville...joined the Brewers as a September callup.
2006
Began the season on the Opening Day roster with Texas...Batted .094 (3-for-32) with 4 RBI in 9 games with the Rangers...Was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma on 4/21 and batted .269 with 10 HR and 55 RBI in 77 games...On 7/28 was traded to the Brewers, along with RHP Francisco Cordero, OF Kevin Mench and LHP Julian Cordero, for OF Carlos Lee and OF Nelson Cruz...Was assigned to Triple-A Nashville, where he batted .412 with 7 HR and 13 RBI in 18 games...Was recalled by the Brewers on 8/19...Batted .229 with 1 HR and 6 RBI in 10 games with the Brewers.....made 9 starts, all in center field...Made his Brewers debut on 8/20 vs. Houston, starting in center field and going 1-for-4...Belted his only home run as a Brewer on 9/1 vs. Florida with a solo shot off Joe Borowski...On 9/14 underwent season-ending surgery on his left great toe (Dr. Richard Marks)...Placed on the 15-day disabled list on 9/19, retroactive to 9/9, with turf toe of the left great toe...Was reinstated from the disabled list on 10/2.

Began the season at Triple-A Oklahoma, where he batted .333 with 3 HR and 6 RBI in 10 games...Was recalled by the Rangers on 4/20...Batted .240 with 6 HR and 32 RBI in 63 games with the Rangers.....made 60 starts, all in center field...Batted just .193 at home (23-for-119) and .291 on the road (32-for-110)...Batted .304 (17-for-56) with runners in scoring position...Tied his career high with 4 hits on 4/23 at New York-AL...Produced a career-high 6 RBI on 5/20 vs. Houston...Placed on the 15-day disabled list on 7/17, retroactive to 7/15, with a left shoulder strain...While on the disabled list underwent surgery to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder.....missed the remainder of the season.

Batted .248 with 14 HR and 46 RBI in 115 games with Texas.....made 100 starts (99g in CF, 1g in RF)...Belted a pair of homers with a season-high 5 RBI on 4/25 vs. Seattle...Also hit a pair of homers, along with 4 RBI, on 5/21 vs. New York-AL...Recorded his first career 4-hit game on 7/16 vs. Toronto...Ranked third among American League outfielders with a .996 fielding percentage...Was on the 15-day disabled list from 6/14-7/9 with a right shoulder injury.....suffered the injury while running into the wall on 6/13 vs. St. Louis...Made 7 appearances between 7/2-7/8 during a rehab assignment at Double-A Frisco.
