Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Reno, hitting .317 (118-for-372) with 29 doubles, 27 home runs and 92 RBI in 101 games...also appeared in 12 games with the D-backs, going 5-for-33 (.152)...Named to the Pacific Coast League mid/postseason All-Star Teams...Ranked among the PCL leaders in slugging percentage (3rd, .629), on-base percentage (7th, .405), home runs (7th) and RBI (12th)...Earned PCL Player of the Week honors for June 20-26, batting .462 (12-for-26) with 4 home runs and 13 RBI...His contract was selected by the D-backs on July 21...led all Minor Leaguers with 89 RBI at the time of his promotion and ranked second with 57 extra-base hits.

Split the season between NYY and Scranton/Wilkes- Barre (AAA)...Began the season as the Yankees' Opening Day 3rd baseman while Alex Rodriguez recovered from hip surgery; was his second career Opening Day roster and first start...Appeared in 31 games for NYY; made 18 starts at 3rd base, 2 at shortstop and 1 each at 2nd and 1st base...Hit safely in a career-best 7 straight games, 4/17-6/25 (.320, 8-25, 6 RBI)...Was on the 60-day DL, 4/25-6/23 (strained right quad) and had a 14-game rehab stint with Scranton/W-B...Was designated for assignment on 8/5; cleared waivers and was outrighted to Scranton/W-B on 8/7...Elected free agency on 8/8 and signed a minor league contract with NYY on 8/10 to finish the season with Scranton/W-B.

Hit .247 (94x380) with 21 home runs and 62 RBI in 122 games for the Triple A Round Rock Express...was 2nd on the team in home runs (Conrad 24), 3rd in RBI (Conrad 94), and tied for 4th in doubles with 23 (Conrad 40)...tied a season-high with three hits, including a home run and a double, and five RBI 6/30 at Nashville... went 2-3 with two home runs and five RBI 7/13 at New Orleans...hit .550 (11x20) during a season-high six game hitting streak 7/22 (G2)-7/27...recorded four doubles, one home run and 3 RBI during the streak...hit .273 (21x77) with seven home runs and 17 RBI during the month of July.

Started the season at Triple A Oklahoma before being traded to the Chicago Cubs on March 30 for future considerations...assigned to Triple A Iowa for the rest of the season...hit .261 (24x92) with five home runs and 17 RBI for Oklahoma prior to the trade...batted .234 (40x171) with two home runs and 16 RBI the rest of the season for Iowa...recorded a season-high 4 RBI, while going 3-5 with a home run and a double 4/12 at Nashville...had a season-high eight-game hitting streak from 7/1-7/16...hit .333 (11x33) with 5 RBI during the streak.

Split the season between the San Francisco Giants and Triple A Fresno...appeared in 78 games for the San Francisco Giants, batting .250 (17x68) with seven extra-base hits and 11 RBI... posted career highs in hits (3) and RBI (4) September 3 vs. Arizona, going 3x6 with a double batted .309 (42x146) with 10 home runs and 21 RBI in 36 games at Triple A Fresno.
2003
Had three stints with the San Francisco Giants during the season - May 11-25, August 5-18 and September 2 through the end of the season... hit his first Major League home run Aug. 9 vs. Philadelphia, a 6th inning solo shot off Vicente Padilla...batted .253(100x396) with 16 doubles, 12 home runs, and 50 RBI in 112 games for Triple A Fresno.
