Shawn Chacon

Shawn A. Chacon (pronounced "shah-CONE")...Attended Greeley (CO) Central High School...went 10-0 with two saves and a 1.51 ERA during his senior season, guiding the Wildcats to the state championship game...almost won as many games (10) as earned runs allowed (14)...led his summer Legion club, Greeley GoJo Sports, to three consecutive state titles...in January of 2002, Greeley Central retired his jersey number 40...he is only the second athlete to have his number retired in the 123-year history of the school (Tad Boyle was the other - basketball - in 1982)...chose to play for Rockies over a college career at Arizona State.

2007

1998

Spent entire season with Salem...Strained the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow in his 10th start on 5/26 and missed the next two months...Returned on 7/19, but the elbow flared up again seven days later...Was shut down for the remainder of the season before Arizona Instructional League play.

1997

Led Asheville (Rockies' A) in ERA and strikeouts.

1996

Captured the Arizona Rookie League's ERA championship while pitching with Colorado...Finished season with Portland (A).
