Marlon Ordell Anderson...wife's name is Shadia...couple has two daughters, Zoe and Hannah and one son, Caleb...played collegiately at the University of South Alabama (USA alums include Luis Gonzalez, Jon Lieber, Mike Mordecai, Lance Johnson, and Juan Pierre)...attended the Los Angeles Sports Council annual awards ceremony in Los Angeles in January and represented his teammates as one of the four players who hit consecutive home runs on Sept. 18, 2006, which was rated as the best Dodger moment in 2006...took part in the Players' Trust Grant Presentation in New Orleans, LA on Feb. 12, 2007 where the Trust awarded $1 million to Volunteers of America to assist rebuilding efforts...led the Sun Belt Conference in hits (89) and doubles (18) and was named the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and *Baseball America's *College All- American first team in 1995...graduated from Prattville (AL) High School...played baseball and football in high school.

Began the year with Washington, where he batted .274 with five homers and 23 RBI in 109 games...Was acquired by the Dodgers with cash considerations on Aug. 31 in exchange for minor league right-hander Jhonny Nuñez...After joining the Dodgers, batted .375 (24-for-64) with seven homers and 15 RBI in 25 games, taking over the starting left field job in the final weeks of the season...earned the Dodgers' 3-Day Blinds Player of the Month Award in September...Since 2004 has 50 pinch-hits which is tied for the Major League lead with Orlando Palmeiro...has 15 pinch- hits in 2006 (including three with the Dodgers) which was tied for fifth in the National League...Led the NL and was third in the Majors with a .400 average (22-for-55) when batting in close and late situations...On Sept. 18, hit the Dodgers' fourth consecutive homer in the ninth inning and second consecutive off Trevor Hoffman, tying a Major League record...his homer tied the game, 9-9 after the Dodgers entered the inning trailing 9-5...the team hit four consecutive solo homers - Jeff Kent, J.D. 2005
The player who signed with the Mets expressly for an opportunity to play for Willie Randolph prospered in his multifaceted role Randolph created, emerging as a late-inning, off-the-bench force and occasional starter at first and second base and in left field. Anderson batted .321 as a pinch-hitter. His 18 pinch-hits equaled the third-highest total in the Major Leagues. Only one of his seven home runs -- an inside-the-park homer that tied the score in the ninth inning -- came as a pinch-hitter. A potential free agent, he is likely to return.
2004
In his first year with the Cardinals, Anderson saw action mainly at second base and in the outfield, but also played two games at first. He was the team's top pinch-hitter, finishing the year with a .333 pinch-hit average. He tied for the NL lead with 17 pinch-hits and ranked sixth with 10 pinch-RBIs.
2003
Played 145 games (120 starts) for Tampa Bay and collected a career-high 67 RBI.
Batted .270 overall and his .341 average with runners in scoring position ranked eighth in the American League.
Was successful in 19 of 22 stolen base attempts (86%) - second-best ratio in the A.L.
Compiled a career-best 11-game hitting streak, 4/13-26.
Broke up Roger Clemensb no-hit bid on 6/18 at NYY with a one-out single in the eighth inning.
