Along with his 4-2 record and 2.38 ERA, posted a then-career-high 42 saves, the 2nd-highest total in Cincinnati history...his .857 save percentage (42 of 49) tied for first in the N.L...did not become the club's closer until Jeff Brantley went on the disabled list on May 20, but still led the N.L. in saves and Rolaids Relief Man Award points standings, becoming the 2nd consecutive Reds pitcher to win both titles...Brantley shared the N.L. lead in 1996 with a team-record 44 saves while winning the N.L. Posted his first winning record in his first full major league season with Montreal...went 5-2 with a 3.88 ERA (29 ER/67.1 IP) in 46 outings out of the bullpen...worked 3.0-plus innings of shutout ball on back-to-back days, April 11 (3.1 vs. Cincinnati) and April 12 (3.0 vs. Cincinnati)...earned his first win of the season in relief after tossing 3.2 innings April 22 at Los Angeles...

Despite going 5-0 with an 0.77 ERA in spring training for the Expos, opened the season at Triple-A Ottawa, where he spent the first 11 days of the season...was recalled April 16, and finished out the season for Montreal establishing then career highs in games (55), starts (8), and innings pitched (95.2)...ranked 4th among all Expo hurlers in appearances...

1992

Spent most of the season at Triple-A Colorado Springs (10-5, 4.76, 24 starts), other than a brief 2-game stint with Cleveland (0-1, 8.22, 7.2 IP) from April 24-May 6...was recalled by the Indians on April 24, and made 2 relief appearances before being sent back down to the Sky Sox...led Colorado Springs in innings (155.0), tied for first in starts (24), and ranked 2nd in wins (10)...

1991

At Colorado Springs, posted a 6-3 record with a 4.64 ERA in 12 starts...was promoted to Cleveland at mid-season, appearing in 29 games (one start)...made his only start on June 14 and suffered the loss vs. Minnesota...was moved to the bullpen following his start...earned his first pro save in a 10-4 win over Baltimore on June 26, after he tossed 3.0 shutout innings...

Went 10-3 with a 4.29 ERA in 17 games (16 starts) for Colorado Springs...earned his first trip to majors April 30...tossed 5.1 innings of relief vs. Blue Jays in big league debut...made his first major league start on May 6, and recorded his first win by tossing 6.2 innings vs. Texas...went 3-4 with a 6.66 ERA in 12 games (9 starts) overall for the Indians...was optioned back to the Sky Sox on May 21...combined for 13 wins on the season, setting a single-season career high...
