Hernandez was acquired from the Nationals on Aug. 7 with Minor Leaguers Garrett Mock and Matt Chico. Hernandez went 1-4 in his first five Arizona starts, and finished three out of his last five starts. The veteran right-hander went a combined 13-13 with a 4.83 ERA between Washington and Arizona. Hernandez served as workhorse for the D-backs and didn't throw less than six innings in any of his 10 Arizona starts. His ERA with the Nats was 5.34 and dropped to 3.76 with the D-backs.
