Dodgers recall Nick Ramirez

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled left-handed pitcher Nick Ramirez from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed right-handed pitcher Kyle Hurt on the injured list with right shoulder inflammation, retroactive to April 17.

Ramirez, 34, returns for his second stint with the Dodgers. He had fired three scoreless innings in two appearances with the team prior to being sent down on Tuesday. The Southern California native has been in the Major Leagues parts of five seasons with Detroit (2019-20), San Diego (2021), New York-AL (2023) and Los Angeles-NL (2024), going a combined 7-7 with a 3.97 ERA in 98 games. He was originally a fourth-round selection in the 2011 First Year Player Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers out of Cal State Fullerton.

Hurt, 24, tossed two scoreless innings in his first Major League start on Tuesday. He has now fired 4.2 straight scoreless innings and has allowed one run over 6.2 innings this season. In two seasons with the Dodgers, he has posted a 1.04 ERA with six strikeouts in 8.2 innings. The 2023 Branch Rickey Minor League Pitcher of the Year is a combined 11-13 with a 4.67 ERA in four minor league seasons. He was acquired from the Marlins on February 12, 2021 along with left-handed pitcher Alex Vesia in exchange for right-hander Dylan Floro.
