LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers activated right-handed pitcher Evan Phillips from the injured list and designated right-handed pitcher Elieser Hernández for assignment.

Phillips, 29, missed 23 games with a right hamstring strain. He made two rehab appearances with Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, striking out three batters in 1.2 innings. On the season, he is 8-for-8 in save chances with a 0.66 ERA. In three seasons with Los Angeles, he is 10-8 with a 1.64 ERA and 34 saves in 147 games. He is in his seventh season in the Major Leagues with Atlanta (2018), Baltimore (2018-2020), Tampa Bay (2021) and Los Angeles (2021-24) and he is a combined 11-11 with a 3.20 ERA in 196 games (one start). He was originally drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 17th round of the 2015 First Year Player Draft.

Hernández, 29, allowed three runs on Wednesday against the Mets and made five appearances with the Dodgers. He allowed nine runs in 9.2 innings with six strikeouts for the Dodgers. Prior to joining the Dodgers, he was with the Miami Marlins for five seasons, going a combined 10-21 with a 5.04 ERA in 90 games (48 starts). He was originally signed by the Dodgers on January 12, 2024 as a Minor League free agent.
