Dodger forever: Vin Scully gifted '20 WS ring
Hall of Fame broadcaster Vin Scully got a special delivery from the Dodgers on Monday: His very own 2020 World Series championship ring.
Scully, 93, retired after the 2016 season, but he’ll forever be connected to the franchise after calling Dodgers games for 67 years.
The Dodgers tweeted out a photo of Scully proudly flashing his new bling on Monday. Scully, who joined Twitter last September, quickly replied: “Couldn't wait to share this with you all. Thanks @Dodgers.”
Dodgers players and staff received their rings, which commemorated the franchise’s first World Series title since 1988, in an on-field ceremony before the team’s home opener on April 9.
The Dodgers won six championships during Scully’s broadcasting tenure, and now he has another ring to add to his collection.
