PHOENIX -- Former outfielder Tony Gwynn Jr. has joined the DodgerTalk radio broadcasting team, the club announced Thursday.
Gwynn, 33 and the son of the late Hall of Famer, played eight Major League seasons, including a stint with the Dodgers in 2011-12. He played 89 games for the Nationals' Triple-A affiliate last year.
Gwynn will join returning host Dave Vassegh on the DodgerTalk postgame show on AM 570 LA Sports Radio. The shows will also include segments with SportsNet LA broadcasters Charley Steiner, Rick Monday, Ned Colletti and Alanna Rizzo.
Tim Cates will host the Dodgers On Deck pregame show for the first time and will have reports from Monday and Vassegh leading up to the game. Cates has been a producer, reporter and host on Fox Sports Radio Network and AM 570.
