LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers shortstop Manny Machado (El Ministro) slugged a three-run homer in the first inning of Saturday's 5-4 win in extras over the Padres, giving him 30 home runs for the fourth consecutive season.
"Manny gets a big hit, puts three points on the board, but those guys battled back," said manager Dave Roberts.

All but six of those home runs Machado hit for the Baltimore Orioles, who traded him to the Dodgers at the All-Star break in a 5-for-1 blockbuster. He hit a career-high 37 in 2016. Machado had his 43rd multi-hit game of the year. In eight career games against San Diego, Machado is hitting .405 with 10 RBIs and a 1.030 OPS.
Machado's home run came off San Diego starter Brett Kennedy. The 26-year-old, who started for the American League at shortstop in the All-Star Game, is a free agent after this season.
