Turner sits with hamstring discomfort
August 23rd, 2020
Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday night after being held out on Sunday because of left hamstring discomfort after being hit by a pitch Saturday night.
Turner remained in that game, but received postgame treatment and is considered day to day. The Dodgers have a scheduled day off on Monday before opening a three-game series in San Francisco on Tuesday night.
“Still some swelling and bruising, but little bit of improvement,” said manager Dave Roberts. “He could play, but we’re choosing to give him today and I expect him back Tuesday.”
Max Muncy started at third base, with Matt Beaty replacing Muncy at first base.
