Young Pirates fan makes great catch on foul ball
Over the years, Pirates fans have proven themselves to be rather adept at the rare skill of reeling in foul balls hit into the stands. They've gotten inventive, using popcorn buckets or cups of expensive beer as receptacles now and then, whatever the opportunity called for.
In the eighth inning of Pittsburgh's 5-4 win over the Padres at PNC Park on Thursday night, one intrepid young Bucs fan was more than ready when his moment came off the bat of Max Moroff. After getting into position, the ball seemed to be twisting away from his outstretched clutches -- but this young man ended up spearing the ball with a no-look attempt:
That, ladies and gentlemen, is how you do it.
And for the baseball glove police out there, at least the kid didn't have a comically oversized glove with which to claim his prize.
