Yasmani Grandal munches on mid-game snack, validates grade-school moms everywhere
Grandal takes some time for a mid-game snack
If you played recreational sports for even a day of your childhood, you know the mom-approved nutritional snack is as grand a tradition as error-assisted home runs. Sure, those orange wedges just made you roll your eyes and pray for pizza at the time, but think of all that useful vitamin C.
Well, parents of America, take heart, for all of your last-minute grocery runs have been worth it: in the seventh inning of the Dodgers' win over the Brewers, L.A. catcher Yasmani Grandal was caught going to town on an apple and some peanut butter, that trusty fuel of 8-year-old soccer players nationwide. It was about as low-tech as your version, too: a plastic spoon and a Dixie bowl are all that's required, no matter if you're making millions or just hoping to hit one to the outfield this time.
And yes, that sound you hear is one million mothers turning to their sons in unison and saying, "See?!"
