Weird baseball and a 'Thriller' flashmob reigned supreme at SDSU's annual Halloween scrimmage
Weird baseball reigned at SDSU's Halloween scrimmage
Halloween is all about strange combos: The world of the dead crossing over to the world of the living. Kids eating five different types of candy at a single time. Weird mixtapes with just-this-side-of-legal songs like "Who are you going to dial on your phone? Ghoulbusters."
Thanks to the San Diego State University baseball team and its annual Halloween scrimmage, we have the best combo: Halloween costumes and baseball.
As usual, the action was exciting and hilarious with sightings of Luigi, Forrest Gump and the Action News team:
The players even tried to think of the most harmless thing. Something they loved from their childhood. Something that could never ever possibly destroy them with poor defensive play: Mr. Stay Puft.
And you've never truly lived until you've seen Donald Duck throw out a runner from short:

After the game there was even an on-field "Thriller" flashmob. You read that right. An on-field "Thriller" flashmob. In even my wildest dreams, I never thought I'd witness such an event.
While our request for a costumed World Series game continues to be ignored, perhaps we can hold out hope for a surprise Halloween exhibition matchup between the Boston Dead Sox and the Milwaukee Boo-ers.
Until that comes to pass, check out more photos from the event at UT San Diego.
