Outfield sprinklers go off in middle of Cardinals-Mets Grapefruit League contest
It's good to experiment during Spring Training. To switch things up, to multitask, to try to find some innovation in the daily routine of baseball -- anything to optimize your time and gain a competitive advantage.
The Cardinals, for example, decided to try their postgame showers during the sixth inning against the Mets on Monday.
Anthony Garcia was minding his own business in left field, waiting for the outcome of Marc Krauss' at-bat, when the sprinklers at Roger Dean Stadium went off. It might've looked accidental, but you never know. The Cardinals could've been taking a page from their opposition:
Either way, mid-game showers are probably not the best way to get an edge. And so the experimentation continues.
