NBA champion JaVale McGee of the Warriors threw a slam dunk of a first pitch for the A's
Whenever a team wins a championship, the inter-sport mingling is inevitable. It's why members of the Pittsburgh Penguins were just seen at PNC Park for some post-Stanely Cup celebrations on the diamond, after all.
Last week, the Golden State Warriors won their second NBA title in three years, taking down the Cavaliers in five games to set off a raucous celebration in Oakland -- and that run of good times continued before Monday night's Astros-A's game at the Coliseum when JaVale McGee took the mound for a ceremonial first pitch.
Mind you, McGee is a seven-foot center known for rim-shattering dunks on the court. As you'd imagine, he makes the mound look tiny:
When it was time for his actual pitch, though, it was clear McGee wasn't going to mess around. After carefully staking his claim on the hill, he considered his approach before firing a pitch to A's coach Mike Aldrete.

McGee joins Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant as fellow Warriors to make an appearance at their Oakland neighbors' ballpark in the not-too-distant past. Although, it must be pointed out, McGee could take some pointers from Thompson when it comes to first pitch efficiency.
