It was an emotional scene in Fenway for the final game of Big Papi's career

It wasn't the perfect Hollywood ending, but it was an unforgettable evening at Fenway Park nonetheless as David Ortiz played the final game of his Major League career. With Boston trailing Cleveland two games to none in the American League Division Series, the Red Sox needed to come away with a win in order to keep their season alive. The game began with an emotional introduction of the lineups including Big Papi:

Ultimately, the rally did fall short, the Indians clinched a trip to meet the Blue Jays in the ALCS and now, Big Papi's career has officially come to a close. The fans stuck around after the final out and Ortiz came back out to the field for a final farewell.
