Mark Teixeira's uncomfortable and hilarious interview show is better than anything on TV
Teixeira's interview show is the best thing on TV
Ever since Montel left the air, daytime talk shows have suffered. I mean, sure, Ellen's pretty great and only a monster doesn't love Maury, but Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has them all beat with Foul Territory with Mark Teixeira.
With three episodes released so far, Teixeira is already giving Chris Farley and Zach Galifianakis a run for their money in the uncomfortable and weird interview format.
And it all starts from the great intro:
From there, Teixeira peels back the veil a little, revealing that this is "something I was born to do and I'll be a great interviewer."
Teixeira proves that his interviews won't be fluff pieces, either, with questions that make Barbara Walters look like she's lobbing softballs.
When interviewing Brian McCann, Teixeira grills him as to who his favorite switch-hitting first baseman on the 2007-2008 Braves was:
And Teixeira asks YES Network's Jack Curry the hard-hitting questions like, "How do you not make your subjects uncomfortable? Because you're making me uncomfortable."
While we already knew that Teixeira had acting chops from his tear jerking performance in August: Osage County, this seals the deal. Whenever his playing days are done, the TV world will be waiting with open arms.
