Justin Verlander led off an inning with a bunt, so he had no choice but to take a bow
Justin Verlander doesn't get a chance to bat very often. Playing in the American League, and taking the ball only once every five days, the Tigers starter only has 42 career plate appearances. So when he had the chance to pick up the lumber for a Spring Training game on Saturday, surely he went all out, right?
<o:p>
Eh ... not so much.
Leading off the top of the third on Saturday, Verlander came to the plate and gave himself up -- quite easily at that. Before heading back to the bench, he also made sure to take a bow:
Of course, it wasn't Verlander's choice to bunt to lead off an inning, rather it was a direction from the top:
Verlander on bunt: "I told Brad before I went up there, 'You're gonna get me booed.'"

Ausmus: "I told him, 'I don't care.'"
