Listen to the Korean broadcast of Jae-Gyun Hwang's first MLB home run
Jae-Gyun Hwang knows how to crush home runs. In his final two seasons in the KBO, the third baseman hit a combined 53 home runs. After blasting seven in Triple-A this season, the Giants called him up for Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Rockies.
Sure enough, during the year of the rookies bashing dingers, Hwang went deep for his first big league hit. He was the 14th Giant to homer for his first hit in his debut:
Even though his swing was perfectly geared for one of his much ballyhooed bat flips, he held true to his promise not to unleash after the arcing shot. Instead he just laid the bat down.
