Watch Carter Capps' leaping throw in mesmerizing slo-mo

of the game at Marlins Park on July 12, 2015 in Miami, Florida. (Rob Foldy)

In 2015, Carter Capps blitzed batters with a 1.16 ERA and 16.8 K/9 in 31 IP. Thanks to his bizarre, jumping delivery, his 98-mph fastball looked even faster. Those few inches closer to the plate made his average perceived velocity jump up to 101.7 -- even higher than Aroldis Chapman's 100.8 mark that year.
Unfortunately, Tommy John surgery caused Capps to miss all of 2016. But this spring, he's back on the mound and battling for the closer's job in Padres camp. Which means we get some glorious slo-mo of his hopping toss:

The only thing left is coming up with a good nickname. My suggestion: The Caprioling Closer -- assuming he gets the job, of course.
